Primarily, the collection focuses on the James Bond films from 1962 (Dr. No) until 2002 (Die Another Day), and their impact on worldwide society and culture. Much of the material comes from Cork's research while producing official "making of" documentaries, as well as other published works as an author and filmmaker. Organization The John Cork collection contains 16 different series according to the format of the material. Some series are further divided into subseries according to subject (Photographs, Subject Files), title (Books, Call Sheets, Film Files, Periodicals, Scripts), or format (Marketing, Video). As a general rule, researchers should note that material connected with a particular film will be found under the series Film Files, while material more loosely related to the James Bond phenomenon (e.g. personalities) are under Subject Files. It should also be noted that Bond film material has been organized chronologically by film release date rather than alphabetically by film title (i.e. Dr. No comes first instead of Casino Royale).
