Since starting in 1989, thousands of athletes have participated in the Games, with an average of 850 people each year. We are glad that you have joined us! The committee hopes you enjoy the sports, competition, and socialization of the Lancaster Senior Games May 6-10, 2019. REGISTRATION If you are a Lancaster County resident, age 55 or older, you are invited to participate in the Games. Your registration fee of $10, due by April 5, enables you to compete in an unlimited number of events. Late registrations will be accepted until April 19, if space permits. The late registration fee is $15. A registration form can be found on page 17. NEW THIS YEAR: 3 WAYS TO REGISTER • Register online/pay online with credit card or e-check • Mail the registration form from this brochure with a check to Lancaster County Office of Aging, 150 North Queen Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 • Drop off the registration form and exact cash or check at Groff Funeral and Cremation Services, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Couples may send one check (payable to Lancaster County Office of Aging). Drop off your completed registration form or proof of online registration and pick up your t-shirt at Groff Funeral and Cremation Services, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The size you mark on your registration form will be the t-shirt size that you receive. PARTICIPATION & CANCELLATION The event coordinators reserve the right to cancel events due to inclement weather or to consolidate age divisions for competition based on insufficient entries. Accreditation is also one of the major requirements to be able to offer federal student aid. Our Early Childhood Education program earned CDA Gold Standard Comprehensive rating – a globally- recognized training credential from the Council of Professional Recognition. The LCCTC sold a house that our Construction Center students built, from the basement steps to the roof peak, over the last few years.

    The Pennsylvania Basic Education/Higher Education Science and Technology Partnership 2017-2018 Annual Service Report Executive Summary The Science In Motion program sustained bipartisan support by members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly and was inserted back into the 2017-2018 state budget after deletion by the Governor. Science In Motion(SIM) was very eager to be able to provide hands-on, inquiry-based experiences to the participating schools in its role as the premier high school science education outreach program for the Commonwealth. Financial hardship of program funding over the past several years has forced many of the SIM host sites to reduce service area size, delay service to schools for several months, or completely stop service before the end of the school year. Of the sites that had science education specialists (mobile educators) from the ten-member colleges and universities, Science In Motion staff members presented over 1,590 hands-on laboratory experiences to 212 different schools. The program also provided an additional 6,206 drop-off laboratory kits for short term loan and offered 13 days of professional development workshop opportunities consortium-wide for over 55 teachers. Overall, Science In Motion provided 470 different teachers with 759 different labs creating 158,320 student experiences during the 2017-2018 school year. What is Science In Motion? Most Pennsylvania high schools cannot afford the modern, well-maintained equipment that it takes to prepare students for today’s modern technological careers in science, engineering and other technical fields. Modern scientific training is especially expensive as it requires multiple sets of equipment so that each student can get a hands-on, inquiry-based experience.
