TRANSITION 2021 - AT-A-GLANCE GUIDE

Please remember that information on transition, any bridging work, and enrolment will be sent direct to the email address that your child used when they applied. It will not be sent to you, unless you made a specific arrangement! Therefore, it is really important that you talk to your child about this to ensure you get a full understanding of what their College, Sixth Form or training SIXTH FORMS provider is asking them to do, both over the summer, and to enrol when they have received their results.

Name of Institution Details  Accrington Academy to contact applicants over the summer with information on enrolment procedures.  Enrolment to take place on 12 August 2021.

St. Christophers Sixth Form  St Christopher’s to contact applicants over the summer with information on enrolment procedures.  Enrolment to take place on 12 August 2021.

Bacup and Rawtenstall  BRGS to contact applicants over the summer with information on enrolment procedures. Grammar School  Enrolment from 12 August 2021 onwards.

Clitheroe Grammar School  Transition packs for each subject will be issued in late May 2021, and should be available on the website (http://www.crgs.org.uk/sixth-form/new-year-12/). It is highly recommended applicants undertake this work to help them start to bridge the gap between GCSE and A-Level.

Rochdale Sixth Form  Transitional work will be supplied to applicants over the summer, that will be relevant to their next step.  Enrolment proceeds from 12 August 2021.

Pendleton College  Bridging packs (transition work) to be sent out 24 May 2021.  Enrolment proceeds from 12 August 2021.

Westholme School  Westholme to contact applicants over the summer with information on enrolment procedures.  Enrolment to take place on 12 August 2021.

COLLEGES/APPRENTICESHIP PROVIDERS

Name of Institution Details Accrington and Rossendale  College will contact applicants in mid-May to confirm contact details. College/Nelson and Colne  Transition work will then be sent out in either late May or early June, relevant to the applicant’s choice. College  Enrolment to take place from Results Day onwards – 12 and 13 August will be the main enrolment days. Online enrolment will also be available, too. Blackburn College  College will issue applicants with a ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ pack in June – this is a transitional piece of work, relevant to each student’s study choice.  College will contact applicants regarding enrolment from Results Day onwards over the summer.  Transition work will be available for those who wish to keep themselves mentally active – again this to go out to applicants via email.  It can also be accessed via www.burnley.ac.uk/year-11-transition-work/  Enrolment to take place after students pick up their results – more information to be supplied by email. Myerscough College  Students who have applied will be given access to a resource called My Future Applicant. This features a range of subject- specific resources and activities, including quizzes, videos, and reading materials. A link will be sent to applicants direct.

Preston’s College  Successful applicants will receive a link to the College’s Sprint Start platform, where they can find staff introductions, careers information, pre-course learning, and competitions.  Enrolment to take place after students pick up their results – more information to be supplied by email.
