Non‐volatile 9 memory devices are electrically programmable and erasable to store charge in a location within the 10 device and to retain that charge when voltage supply from the device is disconnected. The 11 non‐volatile memory is typically a semiconductor memory comprising thousands of individual 12 transistors configured on a substrate to form a matrix of rows and columns of memory cells. 13 Non‐volatile memories are used in digital computing devices for the storage of data. In this paper 14 we have given introduction including a brief survey on upcoming NVMʹs such as FeRAM, MRAM, 15 CBRAM, PRAM, SONOS, RRAM, Racetrack memory and NRAM. Introduction 23 Memory is divided into two main parts: volatile and nonvolatile. Volatile memory loses any 24 data when the system is turned off; it requires constant power to remain viable. Most kinds of 25 random access memory (RAM) fall into this category.
