 The programme:

Day 1: Ascent to the Grünhornlücke From our meeting point on the we hike down to the . Here we begin the ascent over the Grüneggfirn to the Grünhornlücke. A descent followed by a short climb will bring us to the 3048m.

Day 2: Tour to the peak of the Finsteraarhorn 4274m We start early in the morning. We have direct access to the Hugi saddle ascent from behind the hut. Having reached the saddle, we climb up over the NW ridge to the . The Finsteraarhorn is well- known for its breath-taking views; especially the steep falling north face. Happily, we descent back down the same route to the hut where we enjoy a snack and some rest.

Day 3: Ascent to 3212m and descent to the Grimselpass Again, we get an early start and traverse the “Oberaarjoch”. Crossing the Oberaar Glacier, we reach the reservoir Oberaar. After 3 days surrounded by Glacier, we enjoy the flora even more. By taxe, we drive back to Meiringen where an unforgettable tour ends.

 What you need to know…

Meeting point: 9.40am at the coffee bar at Jungfraujoch

Your journey: If arriving by car, we recommend to park in Interlaken East as we take a taxi back to Meiringen. Purchase a one-way ticket to the Jungfraujoch. If arriving by train, you can buy your train ticket at any train station.

Equipment: See equipment list in the appendix. In our Outdoorshop, we sell technical equipment, mountaineering clothing, shoes and backpacks. You can also rent the technical equipment, just let us know.

Decision: 1-2 days before the tour, we check different weather forecasts and the condi- tions to decide whether we can start the tour. The day before the tour, we call you to let you know the last information.

Hut: Please be aware that we stay at a hut. Depending on the season, the- re might not be any tap water. Also, in most huts you will not be able to charge any devices. Please let us know if you are a vegetarian or have other food al- lergies to make sure we can inform the hut.

Last information: The day before the tour, we call you to let you know the name of the mountain guide as well as his/her mobile phone number. Security: All our courses are conducted by licenced IFMGA mountain guides. For a con- tinuous high standard, regular training and further education are compulsory. This way we can guarantee the best possible security measures. grindel- waldSPORTS has been certified over the last couple of years with the „Safety Label in Adventures“. Our security and emergency concepts are annually ex- amined by this organization.

General terms of contract: Please read the general terms of contract.

 We help you to prepare:

Clothing: Choose functional clothing that is water resistant, comfortable and breath- able. We suggest the several layer principle for best adaption in fluctuating temperatures. Our experts in the Outdoorshop are happy to help.

Footwear: In the equipment list in the appendix, you see what kind of footwear you need for this tour. If you have bought new boots, we suggest you try them out on an easy hike before undertaking a tour.

Lunch: A little lunch per day should be enough – some bars, a sandwich, dried fruit, nuts, … We recommend to drink a lot the evening before and in the morning. It helps to handle the altitude.

Packing a backpack: Do not pack too much. In the equipment list in the appendix you see the size of backpack we recommend. Do not forget, you need to carry everything by your- self.
