Allan is a poet, publisher, literary consultant, and freelance editor specializing in poetry and non-fiction. He lives in Thornhill, ON (just north of Toronto), with his wife Holly, a visual artist with whom he has collaborated several times on books which include her collages and pen-and-ink drawings.

In 1986-90 Allan led Phoenix, Toronto's longest-running poetry workshop. He was one of the chief organizers of the weekly Art Bar Poetry Reading Series from 1991 until 2002: playing a central role as it grew into the largest series of its kind in Canada. As an editor, working with several literary presses, Allan has been instrumental in the production of more than 80 literary titles since 1998. From 2000 to 2008, he was the main literary editor for Seraphim Editions. His final project with Seraphim was to co-edit the 256-page anthology Crossing Lines: Poets Who Came to Canada in the Vietnam War Era. Allan started his own micro press, Aeolus House, in 2003. In January 2006, he and three fellow writers started the monthly literary reading series Toronto WordStage, and within a year it evolved into Quattro Books publishers.

Allan Briesmaster is a freelance editor, publisher, and literary consultant who has been active in the Toronto-area poetry scene for many years. He is one of the founding partners in Quattro Books Inc. (www.quattrobooks.ca) and also has his own micro press, Aeolus House. He has seven full-length books of poetry published, and six shorter books, and his work has appeared in many journals and anthologies. Over the past 25 years he has read his work in venues from St. John's to Victoria, and given talks to students had fellow writers, led writers' workshops and retreats, and organized many book launches and readings throughout southern Ontario. Allan lives in Thornhill, Ontario with his wife Holly, a visual artist with whom he has collaborated several times

In Fine Form, The Canadian Book of Form Poetry an anthology which makes a good companion for The Making of a Poem: The Norton Anthology of Poetic Forms edited by Mark Strand -- it's the same idea, except that all the poems are by Canadians and actually more forms are described and exemplified than in the Norton volume (which is really not as exhaustive as Norton Anthologies usually are). Forms in the Canadian book that are not in the Norton include the Fugue, Madrigal, Ghazal, Glosa, Haiku and other Japanese forms, Incantation, Palindrome, Rondeau, Syllabics, Triolet, Tercet.

Brian Campbell is a poet, singer-, editor, translator, and teacher. His second collection is Passenger Flight (Signature Editions, 2009). He is also the author of Guatemala and Other Poems (1994) and Undressing the Night (2007), a translation of the selected poems of Nicaraguan-Canadian poet Francisco Santos. His poetry, reviews and essays have appeared in, among others, Vallum, The New Quarterly, Grain, Prairie Fire, The Saranac Review, The Antigonish Review, The Rover, Rock Salt Plum Review, Montreal Review of Books, and Nth Position. A finalist in the 2006 CBC Literary Award for Poetry, he is also co-founder/editor of Sky of Ink Press, which prints quality chapbooks by emerging poets.
