Lowflying March 2006 1 The fridge door SteLios VassiLeou sends these shots: firstly, from a trip to the Stelvio Pass - surely one of those must-do destinations for Sevens. Below left, wife Niki steals the scene from car and mountain backdrop; while left, the Seven attracts attention of tourists and bikers; and... below, a clutch of Sevens mix with some German heavy metal at a Pistonheads gathering at Virginia Water last month. Seen at a Dunsfold slalom event: a good turn out in the patchy weather; an enthusiastic getaway (below); and a Seven wearing a sensible coat. Pictures from Angus Davidson. Above and left: Below: Cars seen on a typically enjoyable Lotus Seven Club Historian, aged 5. day at Prescott Hillclimb last year. The orange No. 40/914 is an 1800cc Superlight R; we haven't identified the driver - is it you? 888 FME is the 1350cc Lotus 6 (from 1955) driven by Steve Cropley, with another desirable Lotus parked alongside. EDC 844 is another Lotus 6: the 1172cc machine of David Richardson. Pictures by Andrew Myson. Right: Suspension development: the car is Robert Kenrick's very rapid bike-engined hillclimb machine. The outboard mounting for the upper damper eye helps to alleviate the falling wheel rate inherent in an inclined-spring arrangement (which conventional wide-track exacerbates). Tubular anti-roll bar and drop-links afford stepless adjustment for roll The arrangement was seen on father Clive's car previously and on other car subsequently. Again, seen at Prescott Hillclimb and pictured by Andrew Myson. Lowflying March 2006 3 SIGNED FOR RACING, It II I I I FOR LIVING IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT At Caterham we know you have a choice when it comes to buying some of the components for your Seven. Whilst we ensure that every product we sell has met our design and durability criteria; where like-for-like components are involved, the decision may come down to price. Therefore, if you can buy a like-for-like part* cheaper elsewhere, we will lower our price to match. * Like-for-like denotes parts from an identical or competitive source, on general sale at the given price, that are designed for generic purposes and would be suitable for OE use. It does not include aftermarket reproductions of bespoke Caterham components. Offer ends 30th June 2006. Terms and conditions apply. Caterham ACES Sequential Shift Light As used on the R500, but with the addition of being the 'Sureshift-2' programmable type, complete with the special Caterham scuttle mounting bracket.
