Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or VP of Finance & Career Opportunity At Allen Engineering Corporation (AEC) As of August 2021

Strategy, Planning and :  Act as CFO or VP in the role of strategic partner to the Executive Team for AEC and the full Allen Family of Companies.  Assess and evaluate financial performance of with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.  Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate department needs and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.  Communicate, engage and interact with the , CEO, Executive Team, and Functional Managers of the company.  Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s one, three, and five year plan. Assist the CEO with annual financial planning for the Functional Managers of company.  Select and engage consultants, auditors and other key vendors necessary to carry out responsibilities.  Recruit, interview, hire, and train Accounting, IT, HR, and other administrative staff as required.  Assist the CEO with new business opportunities, possible acquisitions of companies and/or product lines, and the creation of new related companies as needed.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting:  Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reporting including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, KPIs, and cash flow for both AEC and the full Allen Family of Companies.  Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations and actionable plans to the Executive Team.  Develop and maintain monthly operating budget for AEC as well as assist Functional Managers in creating their department level budgets.  Oversee and direct all financial planning and analysis for AEC. Manage and oversee the creation of reports, software implementation, and tools for budgeting / forecasting.  Lead and direct all meetings and associated projects with AEC’s lenders, financial and administrative vendors / service providers, and outside auditors / regulators.

Accounting, Administration, and Operations:  Oversee and manage the Accounting Department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise company financial staff.  Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures for AEC and the full Allen Family of Companies.  Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data and presentations for AEC’s Board of Directors.  Oversee the preparation and communication of the full financial statement package for AEC and the full Allen Family of Companies on a monthly basis.

 Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns for AEC and the Full Allen Family of Companies.  Lead, manage, and direct the Accounting, (HR), Information Technology (IT), and Administration departments within the company.

Accounting, Administration, and Operations:  Review and oversee all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.  Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems as needed.  Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.

Financial Management:  Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.  Oversee cash, investments, and . Assist the CEO with all large capital asset purchases to ensure the necessary funds and/or financing are available.  Maintain the company’s current banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors / business partners. Review and analyze all new banking and financial vendor proposals on behalf of the CEO.  Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets.

Cash Management:  Oversee weekly cash management, approve payables, sign checks, and authorize large wires / ACHs as directed by CEO.  Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or VP of Accounting & Finance – Position Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.  A CPA designation is required.  A MBA degree is preferred.  Experience with a reputable Public Accounting Firm is preferred.  Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager is preferred.  Background with IT, ERP, and Accounting systems is preferred.  Outstanding communication and presentation skills is required.  Demonstrated leadership experience and ability is required.  Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills are required.
