Purpose: Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) is a leading champion for all children in the United States. Founded in 1972, we are the nation’s oldest and largest dedicated to the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect, working to actively prevent all forms of child abuse and neglect before it happens. Our success is founded on a nationwide network of state chapters and nearly 600 Healthy Families America (HFA) home visiting sites. We also conduct, translate, and disseminate innovative research based on science that our vast network then puts into action. And we raise public awareness and advocate for family-friendly policies at the national, state, and local levels to support transformative programs and promote the conditions and contexts that help children, families, and communities across the country thrive.

Primary Objective: The Mission of Prevent Child Abuse America is to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children. The primary role of the Chief Financial Officer is to provide leadership and oversight of all finance, , and regulatory compliance for the organization. This position reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for setting the organization’s financial policy and direction. The successful CFO will be a trusted partner and advisor to the CEO and senior team and will be an important voice in setting the strategic direction of the organization. In addition, the CFO will oversee enterprise for the organization and is tasked with providing leadership and initiative for the organization’s IT functions. This position is responsible for presenting all finance-related matters to the .

Responsibilities: • Provides effective and inspiring leadership with integrity and active involvement in organization programs and services, specifically focusing on financial health, financial controls, and fiduciary responsibility. • Collaborates with CEO and senior leadership to plan, develop, and implement the organization’s budget to monitor progress and presents operational metrics both internally and externally. • Develops and maintains the financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections, overseeing and managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing sustainable growth plans, and leading finance personnel. • Develops financial strategies by accurately forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements. • Identifies monetary resources and creates growth action plans. • Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, assessing financial risks and opportunities, initiating corrective actions, and minimizes the impacts of variances.

• Manages banking relationships, borrowing functions, investing accounts and activities, and financial contract negotiations. Maintains organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws. • Oversees all internal and external audit and tax activities. This includes timely submission of the organization’s tax returns (990). • Directs accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Reviews all government funding applications and contracts and manages financial reporting to government and foundation contracts. • Collaborates and consults with HR, including but not limited to payroll and benefits. • Recruits, retains, and oversees finance and accounting staff, as well as staffs the Operations subcommittee of the Board of Directors. • Oversees the Agency's IT functions and serves as liaison to outside IT vendor support. • Supervises and supports functions, creating an efficient and engaging environment • Manages daily administrative operations for the organization, such as resource allocation and budgeting (e.g., office equipment , supplies, technology resources), lease negotiations and tracking, office moves, and storage needs.

Required Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree and MBA or other master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; or equivalent experience. • Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods • CPA is preferred • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting and practices. • Experience in a position • Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, and Outlook email • Experience overseeing IT systems and data security preferred • Authorized to legally work for any employer in the United States • Willingness to submit to any requested background checks • Fluent in English, proficiency in a second language is a plus

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally walk, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. This position may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while moving items. Capacity to spend significant time each day on a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
