He wis created a Marshal o Fraunce bi Keeng Louis XIV in 1675. As a result he wis known as the Maréchal de Luxembourg or more simply as Luxembourg. His youngest son wis the "Maréchal de Montmorency". He wis also imprisoned in the Bastille in Januar 1680, but wis quickly freed. the dukedom of Piney-Luxembourg, which was long carried on with great earnestness by Marshal Montmorency-Luxembourg. To assist M. de Luxembourg's case as much as possible, the celebrated Racine, so known by his plays, and by the order he had received at that time to write the history of the King, was employed to polish and ornament his pleas. The last great action of the Duke's life was a second famous retreat in the presence of superior forces, through a considerable extent of country to Tournay. François Henri de Montmorency de Bouteville, Duke of Piney, Duke of Luxembourg, called Luxembourg (8 January 1628 â“ 4 January 1695) was a French general, marshal of France, famous as the comrade and successor of the great Condé. François Henri de Montmorency was born at Paris. His father, the Count of Bouteville, had been executed six months before his birth for participating in a duel against the Marquis de Beuvron. His aunt, Charlotte Marguerite de Montmorency, Princess of Condé, took charge of him Duc de Piney (Duke of Piney) was a title in the Peerage of France. The holders were also sometimes called duc de Luxembourg, after the House of Luxembourg, from whom they were descended. The duchy-peerage was created in 1581 for François de Luxembourg, third son of Antoine de Luxembourg, Count of Ligny and Brienne. He died in 1613 and was succeeded by his son: I .
