Studies indicate that entrepreneurship education is below expectations . 3 out of 4 students have interest and motivation to study entrepreneurship . Students lack effective and sufficient advising for entrepreneurship education . Only 12% were satisfied with entrepreneurship education received . Entrepreneurship education usually offered as stand alone courses rather than integrated in the curriculum . Entrepreneurship professors originate mostly from business/economics background only . Less than 1% of students go on to lead a startup vs. 20-30% in developed countries

 MIT launched the New Engineering Education Transformation (NEET) program in 2017 to reimagine engineering education. It is an interdisciplinary endeavor, oriented to new machines and systems, with a focus on integrative, project-centric learning tends to cultivate the essential skills, knowledge, and qualities to address the formidable challenges posed by the 21st century.

 2016, Emerging Engineering Education was initiated by MOE.  Since 2017, the three chapters, namely “Fudan Consensus”, “TJU Practice” & “ Guidance” have accelerated engineering in China.  In January 2018, 3E Research and Practice Panel Meeting was held in TJU, during which 612 projects under 30 different major themes were approved.
