Andronrad A reissue done right - lovely presented including original artwork reproduction and great protective sleeves. The liner notes by Jim O'Rourke are personal and nostalgic, and a very pleasant read (apart from the misspelling of 'Cochin Moon') - I wish I had found this record in a small german record shop, too! The vinyl records are incredibly quiet, warm and of excellent quality. The 2x45 rpm pressing is unusual, but the extra disc flipping does not really disturb the musical experience. On the other hand, it makes the listener interact more closely with the actual music.About the music itself? There is nothing much to say – this is one of the most special albums of folky rock music ever written anywhere. Hosono's early genius mind created a set of miniature masterpieces which are timeless, joyful and totally up there with the greatest western folk/pop-rock songwriters of the 60s and 70s. This is a must have in any serious record collector's shelf.I will still have the original pressing in my wish list in case I ever come across it in a random record shop of the world. After all, a piece of history. Pameala I do agree with every word and also would love to add that my absolutely favourite track by Mr Hosono is Bara to yaju (薔薇と野獣) on this special 45 rpm cut sounds amazing!
