the woodlands around Carrbridge are one if it's greatest attractions but in wet weather the paths get churned up by cyclists and horses. I do not have a problem with individual riders riding in the woods but the business using this with large groups of horses on a daily basis should

a. clear up the mess after them and Tuesday, May 17th 11,901,659 b. not use the paths when it has been very wet. With such overuse they turn what should be lovely walking 9:55AM paths into a stinking mire.

I would not like to see the use of hardcore on these paths as they are fantastic to run and walk on, just a bit of common sense!

Saturday, May 11,874,692 I would like to see a cycle path between Carr-Bridge and Aviemore. 14th 5:09PM

Friday, May 13th 11,860,894 The more the better and extend the river walk up and down the river. 4:40AM

Thursday, May 11,855,596 riverside path has had a wonderful facelift 12th 5:39PM

Some of the paths in the wood get flooded and muddy in wet weather. After tree felling it would be lovely if well used tracks could be re-instated instead of usually being left compleatly unusable. The path from Thursday, May 11,852,836 Station Rd to Ellan stables (between Ellanard and Pentlands) is very rutted ans overgrown. It is well used 12th 1:28PM and people struggle to use it sometimes.

Thursday, May 11,847,548 maybe more routes such as the riverside walk 12th 6:49AM

Wednesday, May 11,832,390 Cycle path from village towards Inverness 11th 7:26AM

Paths are generally in good order, expected damage in woods behind BB camp due to harvesting. Would Tuesday, May 10th 11,822,341 help if dog owners cleaned up after their animals. 3:46PM

Monday, May 9th 11,726,363 More footpaths and improvements and regular maintenance 8:38AM

Monday, May 9th 11,725,071 Good path network at the moment. Signing and riverside walk are good improvements 8:18AM

Not a transport improvement as such but the bus stop at the car park in Carrbridge is in a very bad state and could do with being replaced. A wooden bus stop just like the Aviemore ones would look much more Thursday, Apr 21st 11,460,819 attractive and, as a result, perhaps be less likely to be damaged by those that vandalised the current 8:08AM one.

What lunatic decided to put an overtaking land at Moy 1and half miles from a dual carriageway which was obviously going to be Tuesday, May 24th 12,014,111 dangerous and too short to allow for proper overtaking. I think the Highland Council should not be making cuts across the board to our schools, and as a parent I Saturday, May 11,874,692 am very concerned for the future of our children’s education within the Highland Region. 14th 5:09PM

Lack of evening classes in the area for trade skills (including Inverness). Very poor internet. Friday, May 13th 11,865,291 Poor mobile coverage. 12:51PM Repeated rain water and sewage issues.

School and Nursery are very good. No problems lately with water and sewerage. Heating oil is expensive but no problem getting it unless the roads are blocked with snow. All very good to be honest but the road from OUR railway station to OUR village leaves a lot to be desired. People coming off the train are faced with a badly pot-holed surface and no pavement. In winter - deep Thursday, May 11,846,749 snow is left uncleared and folk have to really struggle. Anyone getting off the train expecting a bus, or 12th 5:54AM even taxis - are left to walk a fairly long way - the first part of which is on a disgraceful road surface. If that is the welcome to the village for train travellers, it badly needs improved. Thursday, May 11,846,063 Heating fuel expensive 12th 4:41AM

Thursday, May 11,845,948 OK 12th 4:24AM

Currently satisfied with services and utilitites. However the road clearance in winter is poor. We are very Wednesday, May 11,833,868 pleased with the introduction of more recycling facilitites as from 4th July. Refuse / recycling collection 11th 8:52AM excellent

Would like to see more recycling provisions for cardboard + plastic either bin collections or Community Wednesday, May 11,832,786 bins positioned along side the glass recycling. 11th 7:36AM

Wednesday, May 11,832,390 In the main, cannot complain 11th 7:26AM

In general am happy with services, unsure about refuse collection going to 2 weekly. Heating fuel very Tuesday, May 10th 11,822,341 expensive but little that can be done locally (unless community purchasing ?? ) 3:46PM

Monday, May 9th 11,726,363 Road clening appears non existant - not snow 8:38AM

Mostly satisfactory. Monday, May 9th 11,725,071 Council/police could do more to stop speeding in and through the village. 8:18AM Heating oil price is a big issue and needs investigating.

General services good but maintenance of Station Road seem poor. I have been happy with refuse Monday, May 9th 11,722,945 collection but do not want fortnightly collections. 7:49AM Heating fuel too expensive.

Monday, May 9th 11,722,061 The waste water and seerage are prone to blocking and the response of Scottish Water is pathetic. 7:34AM

We are pleased that there will be more re-cycling boxes and that the bins will only collected once a fortnight. The potholes have been quickly mended after the severe winter. Sunday, May 8th 11,708,581 No electricity losses inspite of 2 severe winters. 9:48AM A good local supplier of logs and coal. The local school is community orientated and the children appear happy there.

Sunday, May 8th 11,707,438 roads need regular better maintenance 5:37AM

Education - good, Water - wish water was on a meter, Waste water - satisfactory, Friday, May 6th 11,692,643 Heating fuel - expensive, Eletricity - expensive, 10:38AM Roads - too many potholes, Refuse/recycling - good Friday, May 6th 11,692,312 Satisfied with all 10:11AM

Friday, May 6th 11,691,820 Kerbside recycling should be encouraged including plastic and cardboard 9:33AM

Friday, May 6th 11,691,715 Road conditions + winter are very poor - appalling 9:24AM

Friday, May 6th 11,691,627 Services are good 9:16AM

Gas heating very good service. All other services also adequate. Recycling point good for village. We have Thursday, May 5th 11,677,344 it all 9:30AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,676,598 All ok 8:27AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,676,374 Road maintenance not good. Holes patched up appear again 8:05AM

Public services - mostly ok but more household recycling collection (for cardboard, plastic, glass etc) Thursday, May 5th 11,676,044 would be an improvement - or village facilities if household collection not possible / private services - 7:32AM improved grants for fuel efficiency and alternative house hold heating etc

Would like to be able to recycle cardboard and plastic at recylcying poings too Thursday, May 5th 11,675,885 7:24AM Rural property so own water + spectic tank

Britain / should have a one price fuel charge - electric, gas, petrol, diesel. Monday, May 2nd 11,627,108 More recycling ponts e.g. street ends and people to take to those points (no collection from individual 5:56AM houses)

Monday, May 2nd 11,626,962 Looking forward to new blue recycling bins to allow recycling of cardboard / plastic locally 5:42AM

Fuel prices remain higher generally in Cairngorms. Monday, May 2nd 11,626,867 5:33AM No issue with general services

Good regular refuse and recycling service,

Road clearing, snow, gritting service barely adequate Monday, May 2nd 11,626,655 5:11AM Station Road regulary dangerous / barely passable.

Modern / well equipped School and Nursery

Education excellent. Beautiful drinking water. Not so sure waste water systm that good. Heating cost very Friday, Apr 29th 11,598,226 expensive. Roads in places in great need of repair. Refuse collecting great. More re-cycling needed house 3:31AM to house.

Thursday, Apr 28th 11,587,629 Happy with all of the above 10:16AM

Thursday, Apr 28th 11,587,334 Plastic bottle recycling provision would be useful in village car park 9:58AM

Winter snow clearing needs a lot of improvement - last two years roads improperly cleared and / or left too Thursday, Apr 28th 11,586,661 long before clearing a bit 9:26AM

Quick service when street lights reported out.

Heating fuel too expensive Thursday, Apr 28th 11,585,431 8:15AM Pot Holes need to be repaired - Station Road

Newer 30mph signs + placed nearer Sawmill into Station Road Wednesday, Apr 11,575,564 all fine 27th 3:42PM

All are OK except roads & pavements which seem to be the last to be cleared of snow and potholes are Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,554,042 left too long before repair 1:07PM

The recycling provision is utterly attrocious, particularly when you consider we are in a national park. The local authority must improve the recycling provision, but equally importantly, the National Park Authority and Destination Management Organisation should understand that their role is not only about planning Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,548,684 and PR, they are there every aspect or the National Park as a destination. Outstanding examples of waste recycling can be found in Scotland, particularly in South Ayrshire, but the Highland region is terrible. 7:56AM

Roads are great, we have running water and our toilets flush perfectly well. Higher speed broadband would be good though.

Monday, Apr 25th 11,533,318 Road service is poor with even like rains causing minor flooding and stagnation 10:32AM

Sunday, Apr 24th 11,516,978 quite content -apart from increasing costs of course! 11:12AM

Sunday, Apr 24th 11,515,977 pretty good 8:57AM

Friday, Apr 22nd 11,491,928 Broadband is a bit variable but otherwise everything else is OK 9:24AM

Very little traffic in village between 11pm and 6am. 26th 3:30AM

Tuesday, May 24th 12,011,391 The norm when I was young 12:34PM

Tuesday, May 24th 12,011,156 Most cost effective 12:23PM

Monday, May 23rd 11,988,564 It would be dangerous to reduce lighting - less safe 8:38AM

Better still would be the use of movement sensitive lighting at least in some parts of Carrbridge (i.e. mainly Monday, May 23rd 11,986,934 housing areas) 6:30AM

Monday, May 23rd 11,986,821 A need to repair street lights 6:19AM

Tuesday, May 17th 11,901,659 Please don't turn all the lights off 9:55AM

The are certain areas in the village that would benefit from the reduced lighting scheme but roads such Saturday, May 11,874,692 as Carr Road would not be the best road to earmark for this. 14th 5:09PM

I am NOT satisfied (Q13) because too much street lighting. Friday, May 13th 11,865,291 We have excessive street lighting and light pollution. 12:51PM Turn the whole lot off!

Friday, May 13th 11,860,894 none 4:40AM

Thursday, May 11,855,596 It can be very dark without any lights and dangerous for areas without pavements 12th 5:39PM

A lot of money could be saved by implementing all three of the above. It would still leave enough lighting Thursday, May 11,846,063 for safety. All street lights could be off between 12 & 6am with alternate street lights off between dusk 12th 4:41AM and 12 mid night and those left on at those times could be dimmed

None of the above, I think the Highland Council would be better to look at saving money by not spending millions of pounds on building a new stretch of road on the A9 that cannot be used because it was not Thursday, May 11,845,894 designed correctly. The person responsible for that collossal waste of money should be held to account 12th 4:21AM rather than turning a few bulbs off.

I think this is a good idea. I live in the centre of the village and it is very well lit. Between 12-6 dimming or Wednesday, May 11,834,124 turning off lights would be safe enough 11th 9:10AM

Station and Carr Road can be dark in places which can be a problem with no pavements if lights would be Wednesday, May 11,832,786 turned off 11th 7:36AM Wednesday, May 11,832,390 Difficult, would depend on the street 11th 7:26AM

Overall happy to live here, good community, reasonable access to resources, would not be happy if snow Tuesday, May 10th 11,822,341 gates are installed at Slochd. 3:46PM

Monday, May 9th 11,722,945 I don't see the need for lights to be on all night beyond the Station Bridge on Station Road 7:49AM

Monday, May 9th 11,722,061 Good idea 7:34AM

I always feel safe walking home in the dark but a trial would need to be carried out of any changes. You would need to get used to the idea of a darker village. Are there many folk about between 1 and 6 am? Sunday, May 8th 11,708,581 What about security. We don't want to invite vandals or burglars. Maybe you would have to give free 9:48AM secuirty lighting to older people's homes who didn't yet have it.

Friday, May 6th 11,692,542 either of the above 10:28AM

Friday, May 6th 11,691,820 More street lighting exists than is required 9:33AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,677,344 Street lights left on in daylight time should be changed accordingly 9:30AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,676,598 Lights off between 1 - 6am to allow people to leave pub and get home 8:27AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,676,374 Some roads too much lighting e.g. Reed Court. Others are quite dark 8:05AM

Thursday, May 5th 11,676,044 Street lighting away from main road not important - encourage use of torches, bike lights etc 7:32AM

Thursday, Apr 28th 11,587,334 Less "winter lights" on trees / lamposts would save money 9:58AM

Thursday, Apr 28th 11,586,661 Too dangerous for village to be left in dark 9:26AM

Wednesday, Apr 11,575,564 If street lights were switched of the journey home from the pub would be a bit scary! 27th 3:42PM

Any business or organisation that causes people to be out after midnight should pay for the lighting i.e Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,554,042 late licences at pub or village hall should pick up the entire lighting bill. 1:07PM

The street lights are ugly. For such a beautiful village in such a beautiful location, the street lights are not in keeping with the feel of the village. Something more similar to the wooden ones in Aviemore would be

more appropriate. Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,548,684 7:56AM With regard to the cost savings, better light design to reduce the amount of light pollution, by directing more of the light downwards reduces the need for brighter lights and therefore saves money and gives darker skies to enjoy the stars and Aurora.

Sunday, Apr 24th 11,516,978 difficult one - depends on street perhaps 11:12AM

all lights off between 2am and 7am Thursday, Apr 21st 11,474,784 car park lights reduced and school lights turned off more regularly 7:22PM

Re street lighting. I think that they need to look at each area individually rather than making one decision Thursday, Apr 21st 11,460,819 that will be imposed on all. Some areas of Carrbridge are heavily lit by street lighting, while other areas 8:08AM have very few lights and would suffer by any cut backs/dimming.

No turbines - put offshore Thursday, May 12,048,727 Useless for highlands 26th 4:53AM New build housing should use ground source heat pumps

Thursday, May 12,047,783 No wind farms please 26th 3:43AM

Wednesday, May 12,038,697 Nuclear - it may be necessary 25th 3:53PM

Wednesday, May 12,029,666 Waste of time and money. No wind in cold months 25th 7:56AM

Wind - Turbine ruin the landscape and are ineffective Solar - Shame it is too expensive for most households to install Wednesday, May 12,025,100 Tidal / Hydro - Hydro has worked well for the Highlands 25th 3:20AM Nuclear - We have used it for years Biomass - Do not know much about but sounds promising

Wind - Not convinced of its contribution and very unsightly, spoiling our beautiful environment Solar - Locally ie buildings / public buildings can make good use of this (schools etc) Tidal - A continuous uninterrupted source, especially tidal Tuesday, May 24th 12,014,111 Nuclear - Probably the only way of providing large amounts of renewable energy 3:17PM Biomass - Good idea locally? Not sure about taking up crop land to grow biomass products - ok if waste products

Wind - makes sense in Carrbridge Tuesday, May 24th 12,013,881 Nuclear - not preferred 3:02PM

Tuesday, May 24th 12,013,370 Nuclear - Essential to maintain stable power supply in future 2:31PM

Wind - Not reliable or cost effective. "Visit the Highlands and see our windfarms?" I DO NOT THINK SO!!!!

Solar - Not starter for elec generation in Scotland. Waste of money Tuesday, May 24th 12,013,179 Tidal - No polluting. Always available 2:18PM Nuclear - No Co2 emissions. Always available. Only major source of elec generation

Biomass - Ok for small scale elec generation

Tuesday, May 24th 12,013,009 Nuclear essential to get us through next 50 years 2:07PM

Tuesday, May 24th 12,009,715 Nuclear is minimal carbon footprint 11:00AM

Monday, May 23rd 11,988,564 Wind - I would like my own wind turbine but it is too expensive to install 8:38AM

Ground/air source heat - 2 Monday, May 23rd 11,986,934 Nuclear - 7 6:30AM Energy from waste - 4

Monday, May 23rd 11,986,821 Wind if it makes electric cheaper 6:19AM

Although "Wind" is the preferred option in this area and I understand the need for renewable energy, I am Saturday, May 11,874,692 not for covering the whole of the Strathspey and the Highlands with turbines. 14th 5:09PM

Saturday, May 11,871,842 Wind power has still to be proven to be ecconomically viable. 14th 8:37AM

Wind power when in right location with no significant wildlife or environmental damage. Friday, May 13th 11,865,291 11,865,291 Nuclear - no thanks! 12:51PM

For us the most important would be the river, you know the one that runs through our village! there could Friday, May 13th 11,860,894 be several water turbines serving our village and we would get credits paid to the village and this could be 4:40AM used directly to improvments. Water power should have been on your list above.

A community Hydro system built on the Dulnain or on some of the better flowing burns we have locally Thursday, May 11,849,617 would be excellent. 12th 9:33AM

Thursday, May 11,845,894 Think they are too expensive to invest in for most people 12th 4:21AM

Wednesday, May 11,840,018 Solar is less invasive to landscape. 11th 4:10PM

Wednesday, May 11,833,868 Still to be convinced that any of the alternatives are workable over a larged scheme 11th 8:52AM

Wednesday, May 11,832,786 Unsure. Do not know enough about each type but interested in options 11th 7:36AM

Wednesday, May 11,832,390 Do not know enough about any of them to give an opinion 11th 7:26AM

I think wind power is currently an expensive 'flavour of the month', The countries future power source Tuesday, May 10th 11,822,341 should be wave/tidal if the technology can be improved. The same goes for solar/photovoltaic. 3:46PM

Wind - useless and costly. Will ruin tourist industry Solar/photovoltaic - don't know about photovoltaics Monday, May 9th 11,725,071 Tidal/wave/hydro - good option but only in development stage 8:18AM Nuclear - We need nuclear in the industry mix - stop wind power subsidies and put it into this. Biomass - if waste ok - if planting -not ok

Monday, May 9th 11,723,732 Wind - not viable and expensive 8:01AM

Solar/photovoltaic - nice but not enough sun, too many trees Monday, May 9th 11,722,945 Tidal/wave/hydro - would like tosee small hydro supply the village 7:49AM

Wind- questionable net energy gain Solar/photovoltaic - very expensive Monday, May 9th 11,722,061 Tidal/wave/hydro - excellent 7:34AM Biomass - excellent local solution

Wind turbines are intrusive on the landscape but solar and water should be better used as in Canada. I Sunday, May 8th 11,708,581 object to sources here being used for power down south with overland power lines. 9:48AM

Friday, May 6th 11,692,542 Possibly wind but a lot of turbines are unsightly 10:28AM

Wind - never - it is not environmentally friendly. Friday, May 6th 11,692,099 9:50AM Nuclear - Never

Friday, May 6th 11,691,820 Windpower - Not at all 9:33AM

Wind - only for local area, not to supply south! Thursday, May 5th 11,676,598 Tidal - to supply local area only , not for south 8:27AM

Wind - The country needs a mixture of renewable energy Solar - From a range of sources all communities and individuals should take responsiblity for this and Thursday, May 5th 11,676,044 produce what they can. Realisticially wind is the best option for Carrbridge 7:32AM Nuclear - NOt sustainalbe or renewable Biomass - not renewable Wind - small discrete for generating electric

Solar - Should be in every home for heating water Monday, May 2nd 11,627,108 5:56AM Tidal - Pentland Firth

Biomass - Would be if farmers co-operated

Wind - susdidies too great and visula impact for next generation and tourism.

Solar / Photovoltaci - Limited wtih Scottish weather Monday, May 2nd 11,626,962 Tidal / Wave / Hydro - with sensitive siting 5:42AM Nuclear - Despite threat is damaged few deaths than in mining

Biomass - with sensitive siting

Wind - Natural Solar / Photovoltaic - Not enough sun in Carrbridge. Some areas ok. I can get no sun all winter. Friday, Apr 29th 11,598,226 Tidal Wave - Britain surrounded by sea. Should use this power 3:31AM Biomass - Cool idea

Thursday, Apr 28th 11,586,661 Wind has proved not to be as effective as once said 9:26AM

Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,554,042 Wind farms are just benefit junkies. 1:07PM

Wind turbines have far too high an environmental impact. During the summer, when it never gets really dark, provides a great opportunity for widespread but Tuesday, Apr 26th 11,548,684 domestic scale solar power. 7:56AM All for tidal power, but certainly no more damming of rivers. Far too many rivers dammed already. Biomass is an excellent way to keep waste out of landfill, and should be used far more widely.

Monday, Apr 25th 11,533,318 Id like to see consideration given to some community schemes e.g hydro from the dulnain. 10:32AM

Sunday, Apr 24th 11,516,978 this divides the community -difficult one! 11:12AM

Thursday, Apr 21st 11,474,784 wind but only coastal/ out to see wind turbines 7:22PM

It is difficult in the winter to stay fit. It is sometimes hard to get to either Grantown or Aviemore. A small Tuesday, May 17th 11,901,659 indoor gym here would be great. 9:55AM so woudl a pool but probably too much to ask

I would ski more often if there was some cash incentive to being local to the Cairngorms. I feel they see us locals as their cash fodder there is no loyalty to people who live in the area. On days when the weather Saturday, May 11,874,692 shuts the hill or there is limited uplift there is no refund or compensation. To be honest if it were not for 14th 5:09PM my children skiing I would not bother as I do not see it as value for money.
