A Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) was signed between DME&T, Govt. of Odisha and Vedanta Ltd. for the construction of a 500 bedded Teaching hospital at Bhangabari, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi District, Odisha. The DME&T will provide 8.173 acres of land for the construction of Hospital building and Vedanta Limited will construct the Hospital as a part of CSR initiative.

area of 36,834.53 Sq.m is coming up in Government Land of about 8.173 acres bearing Plot No.s 439, 440, 441, 442, 443, 477, 479, 691, 693, 694, 695, 696, 697, 693/1279, 696/1283, 697/1282, Khata No. 137, Mouza - Bhangabari, Bhawanipatna town, Kalahandi District, Odisha.

The following permissions are obtained for the Project

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE PROJECT

THE PROJECT

The Director Medical Education & Training (DME&T), Govt. of Odisha through the Chief District Medical Officer & Public Health Officer(Project Proponent), Kalahandi is establishing a 100 Seat Medical College of excellence for teaching, research, training at Bhangabari, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi District, Odisha. The Medical College comprises Hospital building, Academic Block, Hostels, Residential quarters etc.

A Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) was signed between DME&T, Govt. of Odisha and Vedanta Ltd. for the construction of a 500 bed Teaching hospital at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi District, Odisha. The DME&T will provide adequate land for the construction of Hospital building and Vedanta Limited will construct the Hospital as a part of CSR initiative.

The project is coming up in Government Land of about 34.98 acres bearing Plot No’s 437, 438,443, 444, 445, 446, 447, 448, 449, 450, 451, 452, 453, 454,455,456,457,458,459,460,461, 462,463,464,465,466,470,472,473,475, 477,479,693,694,695,696,697,698, 693/1279,700/1280,461/1281,697/1282, 696/1283 & 466/1284, Khata No. 137, Mouza - Bhangabari, Bhawanipatna town, Kalahandi District, Odisha.

The Project Proponent has proposed to construct the Hospital building for the Medical College in an area of about 8.17 acres within the Medical College campus in 34.98 acres.

The Project has received Building permission obtained from Office of The Special Planning Authority, Bhawanipatna vide letter # IB- 11/19/553/BPTSPA dated 17.04.2019.

UTILITY AREA

This area will house all the utility services required for the Hospital such as Chillers, Water Treatment Plant, Fire Fighting Plant, Organic Waste Convertor, Diesel Generator, Transformer etc.,

PARKING

327 no.s of open parking has been proposed for parking of Cars. Provision for parking of two Ambulances are also given. It is proposed to park Two Wheelers in the Medical College Campus in the adjoining site area.

WATER MANAGEMENT

Source of Water – Will be provided by

Total Water Requirement – 551 KLD

Fresh Water – 283 KLD

Treated water reuse for Flushing, Landscape, Filter backwash and HVAC Makeup)

STP – 350 KLD (SBR Technology)

ELECTRIC POWER

Source - Power supply for this project will be obtained HT source from nearest tapping point from Central Electricity Supply Utility of Odisha through cable network. The power is received at 11kV through underground cables.

Estimated Connected Load – 3854 kVA

Estimated Demand Load – 1561 Kva (40 % diversity factor considered)

2 no.s 1600 KVA transformers are proposed (50 % load in each operation)

DG Sets proposed - 1 no. 500 KVA and 2 No.s 750 KVA.

Project Cost – 100 Crores

Schedule of Construction – 30 months from date of receipt of all approvals
