Brief Description Kalampur O.S. Shop Kalahandi District Odisha BRIEF DESCRIPTION KALAMPUR O.S. SHOP KALAHANDI DISTRICT ODISHA • Excise Department Govt of Odisha has granted/renewed the Kalampur O.S. Shop for producing country liquor with Still Deck Capacity of 1620 Ltrs.Valid upto 31.03.2020. • The license is granted in favour of Sri Nimai Kumar Saho, At: Lane 2, PO/PS: Bhawanipatna-766001 , Dist: Kalahandi, Odisha • The Kalampur OS shop installed village Kalampur in Kalampur Tehsil of Kalahandi district. • The Kalampur O.S. shop install in a rented land over Ac. 0.25 Dec or 0.101 Ha. area • The Location of the project is 57 kms from Bhawanipatna the district head quarter and 488 Kms from State head quarter Bhubaneswar. • The project is situated at a distance of 3 Kms from the road joining Junagarh to Kalampur and 500 meter from road joining Main Road to Kalampur Village Road. • The project area is at Latitude 19 0 36’51.6744”N Longitude 82 0 53’11.8961” E (TS E44 E13) • Kalampur village situated at a distance of 0.5 km from the project site • The nearest National highway Raipur Visakhapatnum NH 201 at a distance of 34.3 kms • The nearest Railway Station at Junagarh at a distance of 34.3 kms • Nearest River is Hati is at a distance of 2.5 Kms in W from the project site. • Nearest Forest is Singari RF at a distance of 3 Kms E direction. • No wildlife or archeological sensitive area exist within 5 kms of project site. • The nearest education and health facility available at Kalampur distance of 1 km . • The production capacity of the O.S. shop is 1620 liters per day • Employment Potential of the plant is 15 nos. • The raw material of the project is Mahua flower, Water and Rice Husk • The per day requirement of raw material are Mahua flower is 1435 Kg , Water 9.0 KL and 1244 kg of rice husk. • The Mahua flower and rice husk procured from local market and water sourced from ground through well. • Deck capacity is 1620 ltrs • The process is Mahua flowers are putting in drums filled with water four days before it goes into brewing. After the bubbles are seen on the top of the drum, that drum of flowers is feet for further processing in the furnace and transferred to the brewing copper pot on the bottom. The brewing chamber has a hearth/furnace with one pot. The bucket placed near the furnace is connected to the brew which is situated in the middle of the chamber pot with a pipe. The process often takes three hours. The vapors cooled by cooling water tank and become liquid form. The liquid collected and packed as country liquor. • A chimney of 20feet height & 12 inch diameter installed in the furnace to control the air pollution • The total quantity of 9.0 KL of water required for the plant sourced from well inside the plant premises. • From the process 0.460 TDP of Mahua flower Residue and 0.382 TPD of husk ash generated as solid waste. Also 4.7 KL of waste water generated from the unit per day from cooling process. • The waste water stored in settling tank for reuse in the plant • The solid waste mahua flower residue used for organic manure and the husk ash for brick making. • The green belt over Ac 0.05 dec has developed in the area • The project cost is Rs. 20,00,000.00 .

    EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2031 CUTTACK, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2019 /KARTIKA 9, 1941 HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION The 25th October, 2019 No.22523-PT1-HE-FE1B-POLICY-0006/2019/HE.—Whereas, the State Government have established a new unitary University at Bhawanipatna, called the Kalahandi University, by altering the territorial jurisdiction of the Sambalpur University, vide their notification in the Higher Education Department No.5789-HE-FE1B-POLICY-0006- 2019/HE, dated the 6th March, 2019; And, whereas, the Sambalpur University is overloaded with the affairs of about 240 colleges located within its territorial jurisdiction having affiliated to it; And, whereas, it is felt necessary to disaffiliate the Colleges of Kalahandi and Nuapada Districts from the Sambalpur University and affiliate those Colleges to the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna so as to reduce the workload of Sambalpur University; And, whereas, it is felt necessary to commence the academic activities of the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna from the academic year, 2020 starting from 1st June, 2020; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) and clause (g) of sub-section (3) of Section 32 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989 (Odisha Act 5 of 1989), the State Government do hereby alter the territorial jurisdiction of the Sambalpur University by excluding the Revenue Districts of Kalahandi and Nuapada Districts and by including the same in the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna with effect from the 1st June, 2020 and direct that the Colleges located within the Revenue Districts of Kalahandi and Nuapada shall disaffiliate from the Sambalpur University and be affiliated to the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna with effect from that date.

College (Auto.), Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, Odisha, India 2Department of Economics, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, India 3IIT Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India Abstract The present study is an attempt to study the major causes of out migration in Kalahandi district of Odisha. The study is mainly based on primary data collected through semi-structured questionnaire from two blocks of the district, namely Golamunda and Narla with the total sample size of 300 households. In selecting the sample households, a proportionate sampling along with simple random sampling technique has been used. The study used descriptive statistics, percentage, ratio and cross tabulation to analyze the data. The major findings of the study show that most of the migrants (96%) in the study area are seasonal (or temporary) migrants while a few migrants (4%) are permanent migrants. Among the different social categories, the intensity of migration is highest among SC migrants. Besides, most of the migrants are in the age group of 41-50 and basically the illiterate or very low educated workers (0-5 years of education) are migrated in large number as compared to relatively higher educated workers. So far as place of migration is concerned most of the migrants are migrated to the interstates and very few of them are migrated to the inter districts.
