Dear Parents, This information on NCA pertains to the current school year. For your convenience, we have compiled information that we trust will be helpful as you shop for uniforms. We have made a few changes. to the Elementary and Middle School uniforms. This document reflects the current policies.

DRESS CODE INFORMATION ATTACHMENTS

The attached uniform information sheets have been designed to help you navigate our uniform policies, ven- dors and specifics to our uniform. CODE SPECIFICS: This detailed information outlines approved NCA uniform standards for Elementary and Middle School boys and girls. VENDOR SELECTIONS: NCA works with three vendors. This document provides information on where to purchase NCA approved uniforms and how to order them.

HERE’S YOUR STARTING POINT

Read through this information very carefully before shopping and/or ordering uniforms for the school year. (Keep in mind if you purchase items at Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms, Creative Logo Solutions or Dennis Uniform, you must order ONLY NCA approved uniforms).

UNIFORM REMINDERS (K-8)

PE UNIFORMS AND SPIRIT WEAR: • All official NCA (with NCA* logo) P.E. T- and Sweatshirts must be ordered from Creative Logo So- lutions. • Fleece zipper down vests/ in red or navy blue may be purchased from Creative Logo Solutions, Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniforms and may be worn on non-chapel days in the classroom. • *NCA Logo refers to the compass logo, NCA initials or Gator Athletics Screen printing. Length of skirts/skorts/shorts/jumpers/free dress outfits is as follows: From the hem of the garment to the center of the back of the knee, must not exceed 3 inches. This is the minimum length allowed. Garments may be longer if desired. Middle school girls can only wear the Tom- my Hilfiger or Dennis specific specified by NCA. No other skirts will be allowed this year. All uniforms and non-uniform (PE and free dress included) must comply with length requirements. For more information, we encourage you to review the K-5 Boys, K-5 Girls, Middle School Boys and Middle School Girls specific guidelines. Specific guidelines, changes and purchasing guidelines are avail- able in these documents.

SUGGESTED VENDORS Most of our uniform items must be purchased through our three approved vendors. We highly recom- mend using only our vendors for all uniform items. If you choose to shop from one of the following stores we only recommend purchasing pants and/or polo shirts. If you choose to purchase pants or shirts out- side of our vendors please make sure these items comply with our . Suggested Stores for pants and polo shirts: Old Navy, Target, Kohl’s, Sears, Children’s Place and JC Penney’s

PE UNIFORMS

Creative Logo Solutions frequently sells PE uniforms in our lobby before school or after school. Dates and times will be posted on our website.

RIGHT TO AMEND

NCA has the right to amend the uniform code at any time with or without notice. NCA has the right to de- termine whether or not a item(s) meets our code or the mission of our school.

PRICES

NCA has found vendors that have quality products for good prices. Thus, price adjustments and increases are not made by NCA.

PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD’S CLOTHING We strongly recommend that you label your children’s clothing. Unlabeled items are taken to a local charity at the end of every month. Creative Logo Solutions offers monogramming for NCA sweatshirts which is recommended. Dennis Uniforms sells labels that are ideal for labeling all your children’s outer clothing items, backpacks, water bottles and lunch boxes. You may also use a sharpie to write clearly on the inside of all clothing items.

DRESS CODE COMPLIANCE

Every student is given a two week grace period at the beginning of each school year. There are no consequences if a child is out of dress code for the first two weeks of school. Please refer to the Family Handbook or your child’s homeroom handbook for consequences for being out of dress code after the grace period is over.

• Every Friday - Current Walk A Thon T-shirt every Friday with . (Optional) • 2nd Friday - Free Dress days Students must adhere to dress code standards. • If students do not participate in Special Dress, Free Dress or WAT T-shirt, they must wear their NCA Uniform. • Students must always adhere to dress code standards. • K-5 Only Special Dress Days (not middle school) see below and at nca.school/uniform

MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8) ACTIVITY SHIRT, 8TH GRADE T-SHIRT, FREE DRESS, WALK-A-THON DAYS, AND SPIRIT WEEK

• 6-8 Grade have Current Walk-a-Thon T-Shirt every Friday with jeans. K-5 SPECIAL DRESS- UP DAYS Sept 20- Western Wear WALK-A-THON T-SHIRT FRIDAYS Oct 4-Super Hero Dress May only wear the current WAT t-shirt. Nov 15-Sports Dress Up Students may wear their WAT t-shirt with jeans or uniform pants. Dec 20-Christmas Colors Students may not wear a NON-NCA sweat- Jan 17-International Day shirt with WAT t-shirt in Class. Must be able to see WAT t-shirt Feb 14-Valentines Dress Mar 20-Musical Theme April 17- Career Day Middle School Activity T-shirts such as Band, Orchestra, Robogators, Una Voce, May 15-Tropical Island Choir, Musical, and 8th grade may be worn on Activity Shirt Days with jeans or uniform pants (navy blue sweat pants only if they NOT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL have PE that day)

• Only solid colored belts. Only navy blue, black or brown are allowed. • (other than ear lobe) and permanent tattooing are not permitted. Shoes must be worn at all times. • Closed toed with back straps may be worn. • Free dress days: appropriate, modest clothing. No spaghetti straps or tank tops. Shorts, or skirts must meet length criteria. Free Dress (Applies even if student is wearing leggings/tights pants/tights underneath) No yoga pants or leggings worn as pants. Chapel Uniform: Chapel Uniform must be worn on chapel day. May also be worn as an everyday choice. • Solid white collared , polo shirt or turtleneck. • Navy blue trouser or or hemmed navy walking shorts. Pants and shirts should be ironed. • Red or Navy Blue cardigan or vest with NCA initials (Available from Dennis and Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms). • Navy Blue Blazer with NCA initials. May wear blazer instead of vest or cardigan sweater. (Only available from Tom- my Hilfiger Uniforms) • Red or Navy Blue Fleece zip-up jacket or vest with NCA initials. • Sweatshirts may not be worn to school on chapel days. PE Uniform: All PE Uniforms are available for purchase through Creative Logo Solutions • Red or navy blue P.E. t-shirts with NCA logo • Sweatpants, warm-up pants or athletic shorts. (All pants/short may have thin, white vertical stripes on left/right side of pants. No letters or numbers on pants. 1-inch manufacturer’s name/emblem OK). (Available from Dennis and Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms). • Red or navy blue PE Sweatshirt with NCA logo (only available from Creative Logo Solutions).

Hair/Hats and • Baseball caps/hats or sunglasses must not be worn in the building. Hats may be worn on free dress day at recess. • Hair must be neat and only in natural tone. Pants and shirts should be ironed. • Skirts are optional and must be purchased from approved vendors: Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniform. • All NCA approved sweatshirts may be worn in chapel. No extremes • Light make-up may be worn to school. This includes lipstick. Hair/Hats and • Baseball caps/hats or sunglasses must not be worn in the building. Chapel Uniform: Chapel Uniform must be worn on chapel day. May also be worn as an everyday choice. • Blue, red, or white polo shirt. Optional Shirt from approved vendors. T-shirts worn under chapel shirts must be of solid white with no logos, pictures or words. Optional ties for 8th grade boys only with white dress shirt. • Tan-khaki or navy blue pants (no shorts). Pants and shirts should be ironed. • Optional NCA cardigan, or vest with NCA initials (Colors: Navy blue or red) (only through Dennis Uniform or Tommy Hilfiger) • All NCA approved sweatshirts may be worn in chapel. PE Uniform: All PE Uniforms are available for purchase through Creative Logo Solutions • P.E. t-shirts with NCA logo • Sweatpants, warm-up pants or athletic shorts. (All pants/shorts may have thin, white vertical stripes on left/right side of pants. No letters or numbers on pants. 1-inch manufacturer’s name/emblem OK).
