10:00 a.m. English (Rosary at 9:30 am) 12:00 p.m. Ukrainian Office Hours (Tues. & Thurs.) 11:00 am – 2:00 pm CONFESSIONS Before Divine Liturgies BAPTISM By appointment FUNERALS By arrangement MARRIAGES: By appointment at least six months in advance WEBSITE: www.saintbasilwpg.ca PARISH OFFICE EMAIL ADDRESS: [email protected] We remember today the Myrrh-bearing women, Joseph of Arimathea BULLETIN SUBMISSIONS: [email protected] and Nicodemus, people who in the course of the Gospel are hardly mentioned, yet who, when Christ was seemingly defeated, when death, rejection, betrayal and hatred had conquered, proved to be people of faithfulness and courage, the faithfulness of the heart and the courage that can be born only of love. At the moment of the Cru- cifixion all the Apostles had fled save one, John, who stood at the foot of the Cross with the Mother of God. Everyone else had abandoned Christ, only a small group of women stood at a short distance from the Cross, and when He had died, they came to anoint His Body which Joseph of Arimathea had sought from Pilate, unafraid of being recog- nised as a disciple, because in life and in death love and faithfulness had conquered. 1 SCHEDULE Time Feast or Intention, requested by 05 May, Sunday 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy for all parishioners First Confession, and First Solemn Communion 06 May, Monday 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy for the Jean Baydock offered by Adeline Shy- manski 07 May, Tuesday 6:30 PM Moleben to the Mother of God Followed by Pastoral Meeting 08 May, Wednesday 6:00 PM Divine Liturgy for the soul of Jean Baydock offered by Delores & Steve Zegalski. Special thank you to all children and parents for attending catechism classes; To our catechism teacher for volunteering, their time and efforts. God bless You all! Have a wonderful summer, but remember there are no vocations from Sundays Eucharist!

Synod of of UGCC, held in Ivano-Frankivsk on 31 August – 6 September, 2015, in order to help priests with the Eucharist of children, adopted the Eucharist Instructions for infants and children in the UGCC. This is stated in the Decree of proclamation of the Chil- dren Eucharist in the UGCC Synod of Bishops. Special attention in the Decree and the Regulations is drawn to the children, and the newly baptized, anointed and those who are deprived of the use of reason. Those could be endowed with the Eucharist. However, the must consider the child's ability to consume the Eucharist. If there is doubt, this child can accept only "Communion of blood of the Lord". Also, the child who is seven years old should be encouraged to adopt the sacrament of Confession. It is important to emphasize, that the Instruction of the Eucharist for infants and children in the UGCC is introduced into the legal effect in two months since the electronic publi- cation appeared on the official website of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
