PITTSBURGH ~ A CLASS ACT TWO-DAY TOUR Timing will be adjusted as needed to fit your arrival time.

Day 1: Midday arrive at Station Square and meet local guide. After lunch (on own) and some browsing time in the city’s famous Strip District you have a city tour with stops at the at Cathedral of Learning (University of ) and Heinz Chapel. The Nationality Rooms depict various ethnic cultures found in the Pittsburgh area. At Heinz Chapel you see 23 stained glass windows containing nearly 250,000 pieces of glass. Enjoy a ride on the Duquesne Incline for the spectacular view of the city from atop Mt. Washington followed by dinner at the Grand Concourse, the city’s most elegant restaurant located in the restored P & LE Train Station. Approx. 8:00 PM check in to a Hampton Inn located a short distance out of the city. (D)

Day 2: Breakfast buffet at hotel. 9:00 AM with your guide depart for section of Pittsburgh where you tour Clayton, the Victorian era home of Henry Clay Frick and the Car and Carriage located on the grounds of Clayton.

Lunch on your own at Phipps Café followed by a tour of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Approx. 2:30 PM departing city for home.

OPTION: If you can stay another couple of hours I recommend a visit to the Heinz History Center and Sports Museum OR replace one or both of the morning stops with the history center. Don’t miss the HEINZ Exhibit where you experience 145 years of the H.J. Heinz Co. Discover how the family business began with 8-year old Henry John Heinz selling produce from his mother’s garden and grew to a worldwide company with more than 5,700 products in 200 countries around the globe. Another exhibit is Mr. Rogers Neighborhood featuring the largest collection of original items from the TV set on public view. The Western Sports Museum tackles 100 years of football history featuring the Steelers. All this under one roof!
