We have had the honor of serving Japan Canada Oil Sands since we commenced operations in December 2007. We are located less than a ten minute drive from your site at Hangingstone. Currently, our camp consists of 622 beds, which includes Premier Executive, Standard Executive and Craft Housing, enhanced recreation facilities (including theatre and workout areas) and fine dining. The purpose of this document is to help orient you to our camp. Many camps have a variety of guidelines and quite often, these guidelines vary. STL wants to ensure you have a “Home Away From Home” experience whilst residing with us. The lobby is directly in front of you as you enter the camp • A Guest registration form must be completed by each Guest. If you drove your own vehicle to camp, please ensure you know your license plate number as this will be required at check in • Once completed, you will be assigned a room and a key will be provided • Depending on the room location, you may choose to either walk or return to your vehicle to drive to a more convenient parking area as it relates to your room location CHECK OUT PROCEDURE • Prior to departing camp, collect your belongings – check all drawers and closet space to ensure you do not leave anything behind. During certain periods, you maybe able to keep your room when on days off. Please confirm with staff. • Return your key to the front desk – under no circumstances hand your key to another Guest at any time. Drop your key in the box at the counter • Complete the check out sheet, located next to the box • There will be storage facilities available to leave items on days off. GENERAL NOTES • For security reasons, you may bring your own personal lock to camp. Locks for purchase are available. Various drawers maybe secured for valuables • Sand Tiger Lodge is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, including storage area • Towels are changed daily/bed sheets weekly • Remove all outdoor or dirty shoes prior to entering the camp. Shoe bags are available in the lobby to place muddy boots in to prevent mud dripping down the hallways • In each room, there is boot tray to place muddy boots • We ask every Guest to help play their role in maintaining Sand Tiger Lodge’s facilities by adhering to the no outdoor shoe policy, placing all trash in the receptacles provided and, in general, being respectful of our facilities and equipment 11/1/2018 6 SAND TIGER LODGE LOBBY AREA AT SAND TIGER LODGE 11/1/2018 7 SAND TIGER LODGE HOURS OF OPERATION & DINING ROOM GUIDELINES FRONT DESK 6 A.M. – 9 PM * If there are after hour requirements, please contact Security either in person (front lobby) or call 780-713-1969 DINING BREAKFAST 4:30 AM – 7:30 AM LUNCH NOON – 1 PM DINNER 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM * Pre-made food is available 24 hours/day * For those not able to return to camp for lunch, you may order personalized sandwiches by filling out an order form located at the Sub/Sandwich station in the dining room. Orders placed the prior evening will be ready for pick up as you head out to work * If you are delayed in returning to camp and you will miss the meal hours, please call the front desk and arrangements will be made to leave you a meal for when you arrive DINING GUIDELINES * Please remove all hats and coveralls * Please dress appropriately – for example, no bare feet or inappropriate slogans on clothing will be allowed * Please treat all staff with respect. Any inattention to duty should be reported to the Camp Manager * For those with special dietary requirements, please visit with the Camp Manager to make the necessary arrangements prior to meal hours. Healthy choices are available daily. * All Guests should have their room keys available in lieu of being asked for identification. Under no circumstances, share your room key with others 11/1/2018 8 SAND TIGER MAIN RECREATION ROOM Sand Tiger Lodge’s main recreation area includes a number of large flat screen televisions, fireplace and a variety of games for you relax with when you are “off the clock”. We offer shuffle board, pool, table tennis and foosball, along with area tables and leather couches. Also offered in the recreation room is complimentary popcorn and nachos. For those who want to workout, we have a fitness studio with Life Fitness and Universal equipment. We have cardio equipment and free weights to keep your Team in shape. When using this area, please follow these guidelines: • Return all weights to their racked areas • Wipe down equipment after use • Discard trash in receptacles provided • Place used towels in the soiled towel basket provided • Please limit cardio workouts to 20 minutes when Guests are waiting For those less active and wanting to just lay back, head to the Theatre Room. Filled with leather, reclining chairs, a big screen TV with surround system, you can watch movies or sports events in the greatest of comfort. Finally, those who want to surf the web, head back to the work station area. Please remove all outside footwear and either carry to your room or leave in boot room areas. If taken to room, please place on shoe mat provided. 2. Please be respectful of fellow guests' and their right for quiet. Night shift will sleep during the day. Evening quiet time commences at 10 pm. 3. Abuse or harassment will not be tolerated. Please respect the staff and any inattention to duties should be brought to the Camp Manager's attention immediately. 4. Sand Tiger Lodge is a dry camp. No alcohol is permitted on site. 5. Sand Tiger is a drug free/smoke free environment. 6. No pets are permitted in camp. 7. Sand Tiger Lodge accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Locks for cabinets in rooms maybe purchased at the commissary. 8. Any damages or missing property will be charged back to the room's occupant. 9. If you will be late for supper, please call the camp and we will save your meal for your arrival. 10. It is the responsibility of the room occupant to notify the Camp of their departure by completing the sign out form. Failure to do so will result in additional room charges. 11. All keys should be returned when departing the camp. Do not pass keys between fellow workers. Lost keys will result in a $50 replacement charge. 12. Help keep Sand Tiger Lodge clean. McCrea Edmonton March 2001 Strategy Plus March 2001 Tourism Opportunity Analysis: Dinosaur Tracks In the Grande Cache Area ________________________________________________________________________________ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Several sites of dinosaur footprints and trackways have been exposed on provincial Crown lands near the Town of Grande Cache in northwest Alberta, in an area that was formerly part of a coal mine operated by Smoky River Coal Ltd. (SRCL). While no dispositions or mining leases currently exist on the track sites, coal mining applications will be considered in the area over the next few years. The purpose of this study, commissioned by Alberta Economic Development, is twofold: 1. To determine the capacity of the dinosaur tracks and related palaeontological resources within the Grande Cache region to be developed as marketable tourism products, and 2. If capacity exists to develop the resource as a marketable tourist attraction, to develop an implementation plan for use by interested parties in Grande Cache to pursue development of tourism products and programs related to the dinosaur footprints and trackways. The study involved several components, including: an assessment of the scientific significance of the track sites; a survey of other sites to determine their best practices; a review and assessment of resource protection, management and access considerations; an inventory and assessment of existing tourism in the area; and an assessment of the tourism potential of the track sites based in part on the experiences of other sites.

Freight Train No. 590-19 Mile 138.07, Waterways Subdivision Imperial Mills, Alberta 19 December 2000 Report Number R00C0159 Summary On 19 December 2000, at approximately 2037 mountain standard time, Athabasca Northern Railway Ltd. freight train No. 590-19 was travelling southward over the secondary Highway 881 crossing at Mile 138.07 of the Waterways Subdivision when the 21st car was struck by a semi-trailer truck. As a result of the collision, the train brakes went into emergency, stopping the train with the 33rd car blocking the crossing. The driver of the truck was not injured. At approximately 2347, while the train was still occupying the crossing, a truck partially loaded with logs collided with the standing freight train. The driver of this truck was fatally injured. (ANR) freight train No. 590-19, travelling southward over the secondary Highway 881 crossing at Mile 138.07 of the Waterways Subdivision, experienced a train-initiated emergency brake application. The locomotive engineer immediately reported the incident to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the rail traffic controller (RTC).
