Wheels Brakes Landing Gear Wheels Brakes English V04/2021 Landing Gear 2021 Ambassadors Bryan Bowen, Bowen Aero LLC After STOL Drag racing for 3 years at the High Sierra Fly-in and Reno air races around the corner, I had to come up with a better braking system. I originally had a Cleveland system and swit- ched to a grove double piston caliper system but still wasn’t happy with the braking power. I turned to Beringer to help me come up with a solution, however nobody had put a Beringer brake system on a Kitfox before. After working closely with the wonderful people at Beringer we developed a parts list that would work on all Kitfox models. The results were amazing. The braking improvement brought STOL #4 back into compe- titive times in the STOL Drags, but more than that it made it an all around better performing off-airport airplane. The big- Mike Goulian, USA gest noticeable difference is the lack of brake fade with the Edge 540 /Extra 330SC Beringer system. You have firm braking all the way to a stop, Air Show Pilot unlike the other systems that fade and leave you pushing the Red Bull Air Race Pilot brake pedal through the firewall trying to stop the airplane. I "I switched to BERINGER couldn’t be happier with the performance of the braking and brakes on my Red Bull Air Race they are the most beautiful wheels ever put on an airplane. Edge 540 and absolutely love them. The BERINGERsystem is much lighter than the Nicolas IVANOFF, Edge 540 legacy system on my plane but the stopping power Air Show Pilot makes all the difference in the world. I simply had to Red Bull Air Race Pilot have the BERINGER brakes on my Extra 330 as well." BERINGER wheel/brake kit for Extra 330 and Extra NG was developped with Nicolas. " I would define the BERINGER brakes in few words: lightness and endurance but espe- cially a higher efficiency and a better feeling Luca Bertossio at braking. Everything is a matter of balance Planeur Jet Swift and BERINGER has found the right one! " Air Show Pilot «I use BERINGER because I fell in love with the feeling on the brake handle when I used it for the first time...BERINGER is just the best feeling, feed- back and performances!» 2021 Catalogue Page 2 Index History BERINGER History - Company Values .......................................... They keep the windshield and window surfaces clean and help prevent vandalism and theft. The Lancair ES Canopy Cover is custom-designed for each model, as well as your aircraft's specific antenna and temperature probe placements, if applicable. The Canopy Cover is designed to enclose the windshield, side windows and canopy roof. The Canopy Cover attaches using adjustable "belly straps", which run under the belly and connect to the other side of the cover with a quick-release plastic buckle. When requested, it is also sometimes possible to design Canopy covers that can attach to the aircraft fuselage using pop-riveted snap-heads at the rear and snap-head screws on the engine cowl. This cover type is made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and is 100% lined with a soft and smooth microfiber. Bruce's Custom Covers developed this material combination especially for aircraft protection. The outer material is medium weight and treated for water resistance, UV resistance and anti-static buildup. The inner lining is a very soft and smooth microfiber to prevent scratching.

Executive Summary This report briefly describes the development of the three preliminary configuration designs proposed for the Meridian UAV. This report details the selection of the primary configuration and further, more detailed, analysis including Class II weight and Balance, Class II Stability and Control, Performance Analyses, Systems Design, Class II landing gear, structural arrangement, a manufacturing breakdown and a cost analysis. The design mission for this aircraft is to takeoff from a snow or ice runway, fly to a designated area, then use low frequency radar to perform measurements of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. Three designs were developed: • A Monoplane with Structurally Integrated Antennas • A Monoplane with Antennas Hanging from the Wing • A Biplane with Antennas Structurally Integrated Into the Lower Wing The monoplane with antennas hanging from the wing was selected as the primary configuration for further development. This report describes the Class II design and analysis of that vehicle. i Acknowledgments This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. AST-0424589.
