in accordance with the principles established by the Children’s Act 1989, the Education Act 2002 and the Children’s Act 2004 and in line with locally agreed guidance and procedures. The Beckfoot Trust and the Board of Directors take seriously their responsibilities under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our schools to identify, assess and support those children and young people who are suffering harm. All Trust schools should use this policy and build on it locally to ensure that their individual school procedures and protocols are reflected. Legislation and non-statutory guidance relating to this policy: Children Act 1989 Education Act 1996
