Baptist Association of Greater Baton Rouge World Prayer Calendar 2021-2022 “And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.” Matthew 24:14 World Prayer Calendar 2021-2022 Matthew 24 In the Passion week of our Lord, Matthew 24 is called the Olivet Discourse in which Jesus talks to His disciples about the coming, end of the age. The disciples wanted to know what would be THE Sign of His coming. Jesus gave them many signs but none of them were the One sign until we come to verse 14 “And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.” What is the Sign? When The Gospel is preached to all the nations then the end will come, and when we connect this with the Great Commission and the heart of his command that was “Make Disciples of the all the nations.” Our mission is to go until every nation has received a viable disciple making witness. It is not just getting there, but getting the work into the culture, the people, the language, the tribes and having disciples being made and then reproducing more disciples in that people group. In this booklet is a Prayer Guide that I pray that you will use as part of your devotional prayer time to direct your thoughts and desires in reaching the nations with the Gospel. When will the END come? When Every Nation Discipled? In Christ, Dr. Tommy Middleton 1 World Prayer Calendar 2021-2022 A suggestion on how to use this prayer guide: 1. This guide divides the 200 nations in our world, our United States, the churches in the BAGBR Association, and the BAGBR ministries into 50 groups. “People groups and unreached people groups” have been added to each country. Per the IMB peoplegroups.org website these groups are defined as follows: People group – a group of people sharing a common ethnic identity and language; Unreached People Group – a people group is unreached when less than two percent of its population is evangelical Christian. We have also added the freedom indicator per each country as identified by the website below. The freedom index is as follows: The ability to share the gospel in a given location: https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom‐ world/freedom‐ world‐2018 2. If you were to set aside one day of the week to pray for missions, we ask that you pray for these, a different grouping of four, one/two churches of BAGBR, and one ministry and one state each week. 3. At the end of the calendar year, you will have prayed one time for every country in the world, every one of the States of the US, all the churches in BAGBR, and the different ministries in BAGBR. 4. At the bottom of most pages there is space to make notes or write impressions that you may have as you pray and meditate. There are maps at the back of the booklet as well, so that you will be able to visually see where these countries are located in our world. 2 World Prayer Calendar 2021-2022 1.
