Nato a Roma il 14 12 1952 Laureato in Filosofia presso l’Università Statale di Milano. Sposato con Stefania Aphel Barzini, autrice tv e scrittrice con cui ha due figli, Chiara, scrittrice, e Matteo, regista. Vive a Roma. Oltre alla attività di regista, è attivo anche come artista, con diverse mostre al suo attivo. Ha pubblicato presso Giunti Editore il libro autobiografico “Una famiglia complicata.” Sulle orme del nonno Luigi Barzini Sr, inviato speciale del Corriere della Sera, nel 1989 ha partecipato come documentarista per RAI Uno al Raid Pechino Parigi sulla Itala (l'auto originale del viaggio del 1907). Il suo maggior successo rimane Italia Germania 4-3, film-bilancio della sua generazione, seguito da “Volevamo essere gli U2”. In TV ha esordito con “Chiara e gli altri”, primo seriale dedicato agli adolescenti (1989). The festival will run from Nov 21ST to Nov 24TH at the Walter Reade Theater (Lincoln Center) and at the Wang Center of Long Island, with a curated selection of movies showcasing the best of contemporary Italian cinema: over the course of four days we offer great authors, young directors, US and New York premieres and indepth movie analysis. Over the course of the few last years, Italian cinema has become more and more eclectic, able to surprise and renew itself, both in regards of themes and language, while the productions keep making room for new authors, which is a constant stimulus for the spectators and the industry alike. This is why the effort we put into promoting Italian cinema abroad turns into true pleasure. Ha frequentato minorenne nel 1983 a Bologna la scuola di recitazione dell'A.T.E.R diretta da Alessandra Galante Garrone – Stile Lecocque - studio del clown. Dal 2018 è direttore artistico della società assieme a Gino Auriuso che non segue questo progetto. Teatro Sociale Dal 2011 si appassiona al teatro sociale: porta in scena e recita testi da lei stessa scritti o adattati con l’associazione culturale “Le avventure di Gaia”: “Gaia Terra di mezzo“, parabola tragicomica sulla vita dei più deboli, prodotto da lei stessa e con il Patrocinio dalla Regione Lazio - biglietti a basso costo. “Cinque più uno” nel corso di un convegno a livello europeo di Psichiatria, storia di pedofilia, con il sostegno di “Zetema” a ingresso gratuito. “Sogno di una notte a impatto zero“ sul riciclo dei rifiuti, dopo tre mesi di laboratorio gratuito con i ragazzi del liceo scientifico Papareschi di Roma (periferia), recitando con gli stessi ragazzi. Ingresso gratuito; sponsor di quest’ultimo: “Comieco“, azienda riciclo carta e imballaggio; patrocinata dal municipio di zona. Ingresso gratuito. Conduce un laboratorio teatrale gratuito nel corso di tre mesi per adolescenti nell’ambito dell’“Estate Romana 2016“ presso il “Parco del Tevere” con il sostegno del comune di Roma. Nel 2017 cura la direzione artistica con Gino Auriuso (Compagnia Artenova) del Progetto per i piccoli comuni: “I viaggi dell’ arte“ sostenuto dal Mibact, portando in scena e recitando “Gaia in veloce scherzoso discorso al mondo” da lei stessa scritto; performance tragicomica sui Mutamenti climatici e sulla crisi idrica. -
