Abstract Metro systems are often faced with reliability issues; specifically pertaining to safety, accessibility, train punctuality, and stopping accuracy. The project goal was to assess the reliability of the London Underground’s Jubilee Line and the systems implemented during the Jubilee Line extension. The team achieved this by interviewing train drivers and Transport for London employees, surveying passengers, validating the stopping accuracy of the trains, measuring dwell times, observing accessibility and passenger behavior on platforms with Platform Edge Doors, and overall train performance patterns. ii Acknowledgements We would currently like to thank everyone who helped us complete this project. Page 1–LTP Passenger Transport Strategy Agenda Item: Environment Insert and Economy Item Overview No. Committee Date of Meeting 19 January 2016 Officer Head of Economy Local Transport Plan 2011 – 2026: Passenger Transport Subject of Report Strategy Executive Summary This Passenger Transport Strategy has been developed as part of the County Council’s Holistic Transport Review and provides a framework for the programmes of work arising from the review in a way that is consistent with the objectives included in the Local Transport Plan for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole (LTP3). The Holistic Transport Review aims to reduce the County Council’s revenue spend on passenger transport services by £1.5m over the thee-year period to March 2018. The review incorporates all activities including commissioning, procurement and administration of vehicles and transport related services including 3rd party providers. The overall objective of LTP3 is to “seek a balanced, low carbon transport system which limits the most damaging effects of car usage and provides real choice in alternatives to the private car”. Impact Assessment: Equalities Impact Assessment: An equalities impact assessment was undertaken during development of LTP3. Whilst the Passenger Transport Strategy PDF processed with CutePDF evaluation edition www.CutePDF.com Page 2–LTP Passenger Transport Strategy proposes no new policies, it is likely that reduced funding for public transport support and any resultant reduction in service will have a disproportionate impact on older people, young people and those without access to a motor car, since people in these groups are likely to make greater use of bus services. The A13 Riverside Tunnel Road to Regeneration The tunnel is essential to East London and Thames Gateway’s economic success The A13 Riverside Tunnel Road to Regeneration Thank you for taking the trouble to find out more about the proposed A13 Riverside Tunnel. The tunnelling of a 1.3km stretch of the A13 will not only improve traffic flow along this key route, mitigating the two notorious bottlenecks at the Lodge Avenue and Renwick Road junctions, but will also transform a severely blighted area. As well as creating a new neighbourhood of over 5,000 homes called Castle Green, the tunnel will act as a catalyst for the building of another 28,300 homes in London Riverside, while creating over 1,200 jobs and unlocking significant business and commercial growth in the surrounding area. The tunnel is essential to east London and the Thames Gateway’s economic success and will stimulate growth along its route as well as easing congestion. It also signifies a new way of working in this country adapted from successful models from other European cities. A large proportion of the scheme could be self-financing, with the majority of the funding being generated by the tunnel itself, through the land value uplift and sale of the homes, the community infrastructure levy and new homes bonus. If the government also supports our proposal for stamp duty devolution in Castle Green, then this would mean further significant funding for the scheme could be secured.
