For over 20 years, O’Brien has been a staple of television, and since 2010 has hosted show CONAN four nights a week on TBS. Featuring celebrity interviews, standup comedians, musical performances and signature remote segments, CONAN has maintained its host’s reputation for cutting edge comedy while boasting the youngest, most loyal audience in late night.

Team Coco Digital represents the digital extension of CONAN, providing the ultimate interactive experience for its fans and the opportunity for those fans to join the conversation. Team Coco gives fans what they want most: digital exclusives, behindthescenes content, and direct access to Conan himself. This year, Team Coco Digital took its interactive elements to the next level, with a focus on live streaming, 360° video and even more opportunities for fans to communicate directly with Conan.

Team Coco Digital extends the reach of the linear program by giving CONAN fans around the globe daily access to a massive archive of intimate rehearsal outtakes, backstage interviews, and episode clips — including Conan’s signature remote pieces, such as the Ice Cube & Student Driver video, which has become one of the most loved and shared videos of the year, with over 35 million views and counting.

CONAN has one of the largest and most engaged digital audiences in late night, reaching nearly 30 million followers on various social platforms. This year, Team Coco connected with these fans via Teamcoco.com and the Team Coco mobile apps for iOS and Android — and by programming unique content for Facebook, , , Tumblr, Google Plus, Periscope, Giphy, The List App, and Snapchat. For example, on Facebook Live and Periscope, fans talked directly to celebrity guests backstage before their appearances. On Twitter, fans at home interacted live with Team Coco’s social team during every CONAN broadcast. By proactively reaching out to fans on their favorite platforms, Team Coco Digital provided the ultimate CONAN experience.

This year Conan went global; he took his show around the world, using native and emerging social media platforms to talk directly to more fans than ever before. Live streaming on Facebook Live, Youtube and Periscope became a critical tool for Conan to interact with his global audience: Fans were able to watch soap operas side by side with Conan from his hotel room in . When Conan visited , fans watched live as he and First Lady entertained the troops. Meanwhile, at a layover in Dubai, Conan gave fans a unique look at the innerworkings of his travel shows.

Team Coco fan interaction reached new heights when Conan accepted a fan’s invitation to visit to shoot an episode of his show. While overseas, Conan personally documented his journey on the Korean social platform KakaoStory and with a takeover of the Team Coco Instagram account. CONAN is not broadcast in South Korea, so when thousands of screaming fans met Conan at the airport, the global reach of Team Coco Digital was immediately apparent.

Coinciding with the broadcast premiere of the Korea special, Team Coco launched a dedicated #ConanKorea microsite featuring clips from the episode (which have been viewed over 25 million times) as well as exclusive content, such as an interactive map of Conan’s journey, outtakes from his music video with legendary KPop producer JY Park, and unprecedented behindthescenes content from inside with “The Walking Dead” star . Once back home, Conan continued interacting with his Korean fans, natively uploading Koreanlanguage promos, and participating in Q&As both with his instudio audience and live over the web with fans via YouTube Live, Twitch, Periscope and Facebook Live.

Live streaming wasn’t limited to Conan’s travel shows. “Stream Coco”, Team Coco’s weekly video game series, was simultaneously broadcast live on YouTube and video game streaming platform Twitch to feed the growing audience of gamers who couldn’t get enough of CONAN’s extremely successful onair “Clueless Gamer” segments. “Stream Coco” provided fans with the opportunity to get exclusive first looks at upcoming games while interacting with celebrity guests and CONAN staffers. In addition, “Stream Coco” was one of the very first streaming series to take advantage of YouTube’s revolutionary “Live 360°” technology, using virtual reality to provide an even more immersive experience to Team Coco gaming fans.

Team Coco also utilized stateoftheart 360° technology on a much larger stage. This year, CONAN traveled to and broadcast a week of shows from the belly of the beast — ComicCon. To enhance the show’s linear broadcast, Team Coco employed a specialized camera rig which allowed fans to watch CONAN in 360°. Through Teamcoco.com, the Team Coco app or using a custom Google Cardboard headset, fans were able to enjoy “CONAN at ComicCon” as if they were right on stage next to the casts of “,” “XMen: Apocalypse,” “The Walking Dead” and “The Hunger Games.”
