Honored with individual awards were Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis, Daniel Kaluuya and Yuh-Jung Youn for performances in motion pictures, and Mark Ruffalo, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Bateman, Gillian Anderson, Jason Sudeikis and Catherine O’Hara for performances in television. The Screen Actors Guild Awards originated awards for the outstanding performances by a motion picture cast and by television drama and comedy ensembles. The Actor® for a motion picture cast performance went this year to “The Trial of The Chicago 7,” while the Actors® for television drama and comedy ensemble performances went this year to “The Crown” and “Schitt’s Creek.” SAG Awards Producers Jason George and JoBeth Williams revealed the honorees for outstanding action performances during the official live pre-show PEOPLE, Entertainment Weekly & TNT: Screen Actors Guild Awards Pre-Show. The stunt ensemble from “Wonder Woman 1984” was honored for film and the stunt ensemble from “The Mandalorian” was honored for television. *SAG Awards Eligibility Period: January 1, 2020 - February 28, 2021 This year's SAG Awards was a one-hour celebration that highlighted and expanded on the show’s signature “I Am An Actor” stories through funny and intimate docuseries-inspired interviews, which were woven throughout the telecast. The SAG Awards unique take on awards season included an upbeat montage recognizing this year’s nominees’ outstanding performances, and an “In Memoriam” tribute presented by Viola Davis honoring the union members lost since last year’s gathering. Since their creation in 1995, the SAG Awards have benefitted the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. This past year, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation raised and granted over $6.5 million in disaster relief to more than 7,000 SAG-AFTRA artists and families in urgent need of emergency assistance due to COVID-19 and the industry shutdown. Nominees are chosen by their respective SAG Awards film and television nominating committees and were announced on February 4, 2021. Two nominating panels — one for television and one for film — each composed of 2,500 randomly selected union members from across the United States, chose this year’s nominees. Final voting was open to 129,500 SAG-AFTRA members in good standing. Balloting closed at noon on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 and results were managed by Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards' official election firm. The film – which tells the story of a teenage hockey phenom who goes from obscurity to overnight fame – also stars a slew of Canadian talent. Among those are singer/songwriter Marc Jordan (whose composing credits include Rod Stewart’s “Rhythm of My Heart” and Cher’s “Taxi Taxi”), newcomers Noah Reid and Allie MacDonald, along with cameos by music artists Nelly Furtado, Dave Bidini, Hawksley Workman and John McDermott, journalists George Stroumboulopoulos and Evan Solomon, sports anchor Steve Kouleas, hockey dad Walter Gretzky and hockey star Theo Fleury. Unlike other musicals, the story doesn’t stop just for the sake of a song. Instead, the lyrics (written by McGowan) drive the plot. There are 20 original songs, among them one called “Darryl vs. the Kid” by Barenaked Ladies, as well as “Hugs” by Olivia Newton-John, Amy Sky and Marc Jordan, and five songs on which Hawksley Workman contributed.

  • Conan O'brien
Second Place Stars presents… The O’Brien Hourly Bonus 1 Perhaps you know him from his show on TBS or perhaps you have been a devout follower since the days of Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Or maybe you have no idea who this red- headed person in a suit is (in which case, I pity you). Either way, test your knowledge of Conan and the various late night shows he has been affiliated with. Even if you don’t know a single thing about Conan, there may be some questions you may still know the answer to. The number in the brackets at the end of the question represents how many points each question is worth. But in the end, your answers will be graded on a 15 point scale if you don’t use the internet or a 10 point scale if you do use the internet. Good luck! 1. Before becoming the host for Late Night, Conan was a writer for The Simpsons. This episode, written by Conan O’Brien, had a guest appearance by Leonard Nimoy. [1] 2. Before either she or Conan was married or famous and before she played a New York City masseuse or a web therapist, this actress was reportedly more than just “friends” with her fellow Groundling. [1] Several other famous actors had their start on Late Night with Conan O’Brien either as interns or actors. Most of them are still affiliated with the peacock network particularly by its Thursday night comedy line up. Who knew watching television would come in handy one day? 3.

Each character lives in a separate world but authors a story about the life of another. The comic book artist, Emma, works by day at an artificial love doll factory, and is hoping to undergo a secret cosmetic procedure. Emma’s comic tells the story of Edward, a cocky film director with a debilitating secret about his anatomy. • HB-06267 Bishop, Jeff
RE: HB 6267 - CT TAX CREDITS Dear Finance Committee and Esteemed Members of the Connecticut Legislature My name is Jeff Bishop and I currently perform business recruitment and economic development functions here in the Greater Bridgeport area with the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. Prior to this I was with the Bridgeport Economic Resource Center’s Office of film, which was a public private organization working hand-in-hand with the City of Bridgeport’s Office of Planning and Economic Development. During the tenure of the Bridgeport Office of Film there were more than 30 major motion pictures and/or projects filmed in the City of Bridgeport and surrounding area. They came to our region not only because of the wonderful and diverse scenery available, but also because of the film and digital media tax credit program that was in place. These films and projects brought a tremendous amount of economic activity and energy into our communities on a regular basis. In addition to the “star power” that came to town, it attracted national attention in a positive way, generated civic pride and elevated our standing in the movie industry as a great place to do business. It seemed that the headlines in our local papers and in the media were more about the film projects that came into our town and took over with their film shooting instead of the other types of shootings. There was always a buzz in the air and a certain energy that is hard to quantify but was still there and on display for all to see.
