Before joining Central in 2018, I worked in industry full time from 1996 – 2018 in a variety of roles. Initially I began my career at the Haymarket Theatre in Basingstoke as Technician responsible for Sound where I stayed for 2 years. After that I moved to the Almeida Theatre as Sound Technician on a short-term contract, when the theatre was transferring lots of work to the West End and Broadway. At the Almeida I worked on a number of high-profile shows including Naked with Juliet Binoche, Ivanov with Ralf Fiennes and The Iceman Cometh with Kevin Spacey. In 1998 I moved to the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester where I stayed as Deputy Head of Sound until 2010. Whilst there I fulfilled all the technical duties of the role, as well as acting as Sound Designer for over 30 shows. In 2010 I left to join then Sound Department at the National Theatre, in the Olivier Theatre as Senior Sound Technician, on a short term basis as sabbatical cover. I was then employed repeatedly for short project contracts which sat in and around my freelance career as a Sound Designer nationwide. Whilst at the National Theatre I worked on projects including Welcome to Thebes, Fela, Frankenstein and This House. During this time I also began teaching on the Theatre Sound course at Central part time, escalating to a full terms cover in 2015. In 2016 I became Head of Sound for the Young Vic theatre and whilst there managed the sound for projects including The Inheritance, The Jungle, The Brothers Size, It’s All Kicking Off, Fun Home and Twelfth Night. I retained that position until joining Central permanently in 2018 as Lecturer for Theatre Sound. My freelance career as a Sound Designer for Theatre and Short Film has taken place alongside and in conjunction with all the appointments stated above and details of specific projects and productions I have made can be found below. In addition to this I also worked as a corporate sound engineer across many projects worldwide including SIBOS in Singapore, Boston & Dubai, Salesforce in Paris & Munich, Cisco in Milan and Barcelona, IBM in Monaco and Google at Cannes Lions. I was a founding member of Stage Sight and sat on the committee for 2 years and am still a Stage Sight member running their website and sitting on the Drama Schools working group. I am Sound Associate for NYX Electronic Drone Choir and have worked on a number of their projects, mainly in the area of Spatial sound. This included VOID a show in collaboration with Dan Tobin Smith Studio for the London Design Festival, a sonic installation and live show performed by the choir to sit alongside the Gemstones exhibition. I have also recently developed ‘Mutualism’ with them, a 360-degree video project with spatialised sound and created ‘Mutualism a mixtape’ for Radiophrenia from the outtakes of the project. I work as a solo Sound Artist under the moniker ‘thesoundcollective’ creating composition and sonic soundscapes. Many of which can be found on my website and Soundcloud and have worked with ‘The Eaten One’ to produce the album ‘M:M:M’ released in November 2020. • Shakespeare on Film, Video & Stage
William Shakespeare on Film, Video and Stage Titles in bold red font with an asterisk (*) represent the crème de la crème – first choice titles in each category. These are the titles you’ll probably want to explore first. Titles in bold black font are the second- tier – outstanding films that are the next level of artistry and craftsmanship. Once you have experienced the top tier, these are where you should go next. They may not represent the highest achievement in each genre, but they are definitely a cut above the rest. Finally, the titles which are in a regular black font constitute the rest of the films within the genre. I would be the first to admit that some of these may actually be worthy of being “ranked” more highly, but it is a ridiculously subjective matter. • The History of Judaism in Kalady
How the castle and the parish of Kolodeje arose During the reign of King Ladislav II in the year 1500, the region where today lies the parish of Kolodeje was completely deserted. The hut of the ferryman and a watering place for the cattle were the only building and became the origin of the parish; the farm as well as the fortification came only in the course of time. The river crossing and the inn belonged initially to the Estate Breznice, which earlier belonged to Bechyne and then became part of Tyn. All villages of the region were bonded, that is, they belonged to an estate of which the inhabitants were subjects and formed effectively its living inventory. There were two kinds of fields: The so called estate and the fields of the peasants. The estate comprised the fields of the overlord, they were free and were leased by the master; they had an area which could be ploughed in one day. In contrast, the land of the peasants were bonded fields which were leased to the bondsman under arbitrary conditions. The farm Breznice and the fortification with the same name belonged to the Count Stefan of Stramberg and subsequently to the nobleman Vchyna of Mlikovice, whole successors owned Breznice right into the 16th Century. The ferryman and innkeeper at the bank of the Luznice between the villages of Hosty and Tyn were bonded to the Breznice nobleman from Mlikovice and it remained like this until Breznice was sold to the Tyn nobleman, the Family of Cabelicky of Boutice. The parish of Kolodeje was founded around the year 1570.
