Dat zagen eind januari 180 studenten en medewerkers in het Eras- mus MC tijdens de lunchle- zingenserie Dier-en-Arts, georganiseerd door Studium Generale en de Medische Faculteits Vereniging Rot- terdam. As snake specialist Richard Mastenbroek (associated with the Havenziekenhuis hospital) stood there milking a snake, Pharmacology Professor Jan Danser surrendered some of his blood to mix (and curdle) with the venom. Hoe overleeft Nederland het populisme?

De PVV is de grootste partij in de peilingen. Wat is er aan de hand? “Een van de belangrijkste redenen voor de opkomst van het populisme is dat er, ondanks een groot aan‑ tal nieuwe partijen, al jaren weinig meer te kiezen valt in de politiek. In een democratie dienen alle be‑ volkingsgroepen vertegenwoordigd te worden in het parlement. Maar maakt het wezenlijk verschil of je voor de VVD of voor de PvdA kiest?
