The app has augmented GoI's initiatives in proactively reaching out to and informing the users the potential risk of infection, best practices and relevant medical advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19 pandemic. The app has been developed through Public Private Partnership under guidance of NIC.

The app serves a very critical purpose of contact tracing, that is helping the Government implement a graded plan for relaxation of the lockdown in areas across the 733 Districts of India. The app detects and tracks a user's movement with the help of GPS and Bluetooth sensors and notifies if the user is in the vicinity of infected people by using its database and algorithms.

Going forward, the app may be used as an e-pass to move around the city if the users' app displays green colour with "you are safe" message on the screen. The app is privacy-first by design and currently available in 11 languages. The app has highly scalable architecture and is

Booth Level COVID Officer; These Booth Level COVID Officers are playing very important role of preventing

and containing the spread of Coronavirus. India is the largest democracy in the world and the elections in our country is managed by the Election Commission of India very meticulously by reaching to the grassroot level. One of the grassroot level officer is the Boot Level Officer. The roles of the BLO is to ensure eligible citizens are registered in the electoral process, carry out physical verifications, mapping of persons with disabilities and interacts with local people and political representatives to keep the electoral list updated. District Administration came up with an idea to appoint these Booth Level Officers as Booth Level COVID Officers.

The Booth Level COVID Officers will identify all the citizens above the age of 50 years from the electoral list and prepare a separate list of all those citizens as they are considered to be on the high risk category. Booth Level COVID Officer will visit each and every house and meet the citizens above 50 years of age and check there oxygen level using Pulse Oximeter and temperature using Infrared Thermometer and make note of the same. If they find any of these citizens having symptoms of Coronavirus immediate information is passed on to the respective officer for further action.

HIV or active tuberculosis (TB) persons have high risk of developing serious complications if infected by COVID-19. HIV compromises the immune system, making carriers more susceptible to TB and, possibly, COVID-19. And TB can damage the lungs, perhaps leaving people more susceptible to severe COVID-19.

Till date there have been no deaths who have TB or HIV, because of continuous counselling by the TB & HIV Counsellor appointed by the District Administration, also extensive use of social media to create awareness and precautions that need to be taken by these groups, many videos have been created by the District Administration to ensure proper care is taken.

STATISTICS

This chapter collects the various statistical initiatives developed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and shares the official data on different parameters.

Without statistics on COVID-19 we cannot possibly understand how the pandemic is progressing.

Without statistics we cannot respond appropriately to the threat; neither as individuals nor as a society. Nor can we learn where countermeasures against the pandemic are working.

Data are the facts and figures that are collected, analyzed, and summarized for presentation and interpretation for quantitative or qualitative.

The COVID-19 spread so rapidly that it has changed the rhythm of the globe. Whether from the perspective of a single country or multilateral levels, the solidity of international relations has been put under test.

The most obvious consequences include economic recession, a crisis of global governance, trade protectionism and increasing isolationist sentiment. People-to-people, cultural and travel exchanges have all been restricted. Nonetheless, this is just a tip of the iceberg.

After we overcome the pandemic, which will surely happen, we must carry out a comprehensive evaluation of our ability to maintain stability when faced with similar challenges in the future. We must also craft measures to cope with these challenges together. But perhaps at the current phase, we can already draw some conclusions.

A pandemic is not new in human history. But what makes the COVID- 19 pandemic special is that it takes place in an unprecedented backdrop when the interconnectivity and interdependence between people, between countries and between continents are so deep. The achievements people have made in technology, intelligence and transportation make them both physically and psychologically globalized.

The consequence is that problems in one country or state or district could become a global problem.

Similarly, if one isolates oneself and relies on others to solve one's own problems, it is simply impossible. The effect of the virus has clearly proved this. The pandemic reminds us that we need to stay humble in the face of disasters. Any country or individual, regardless of their geography, fortunes or political ambitions, is equal. The novel coronavirus crisis rips off all fanciful illusions and superficial things and displays the lasting value of human life.
