How Do I Get In?

All access and unit information is sent to you via e-mail 2 days prior to your arrival. Since our buildings are unstaffed, it is critical that you receive and read all e-mail communication from us in order to access your unit. Because our buildings do not have a front desk we use codes, not keys, to give our guests access to buildings and units. If you don’t receive the e-mail from us with access information 2 days prior to arrival, please contact us immediately.

The e-mail that contains your codes is titled: “Important Check-In Information for your Booking (PLEASE READ): Pre-Stay Information for your Booking on www.shorttermrentalsboston.com”

Coming from Logan Airport

We recommend taking a cab from the Airport to get to the building. The entire trip is about 15 minutes and will cost around $30 with all tolls and airport fees included.

You can also pick up the shuttle from the airport at Terminal E, getting off at the MBTA Airport Station. From here you will board the Blue Line toward Bowdoin, getting off at the Government Center stop. From Government Center, board the Green Line toward Cleveland CIrcle, getting off at the Hynes Convention Center stop. After getting of the train at Hynes Convention Center, walk north until you hit Commonwealth Ave., then turn left onto Commonwealth Ave. Walk a few hundred feet and the building will be on the right.

Coming from South Station

If you arrived by train at South Station, we recommend taking a cab. The entire trip by car is about 10 minutes. You can also connect to the Red Line train at South Station toward Alewife. Ride the Red line to Park Street, switching to the Green Line toward Riverside, getting off at the Hynes Convention Center stop. After getting of the train at Hynes Convention Center, walk north until you hit Commonwealth Ave., then turn left onto Commonwealth Ave. Walk a few hundred feet and the building will be on the right.

Your unit is equipped with free WiFi, cable and a smart HDTV. If the cable isn’t displaying set the input to HDMI. The TV and Cable box are controlled using separate remotes. To power on the cable box, press the “cable” button on the top of the remote, then press “power.”

3 Your TV is equipped with multiple HDMI ports, allowing you to connect a computer for viewing your media on a larger screen.

Your TV is also a smart TV. If you have a streaming account like Netflix, Hulu and the like, you can log into the Netflix App on the TV using your account.

Check-in/Check-out

Check-in is at 4 PM / Check-out is at 11 AM

***Cleaners begin promptly at 11AM***

Trash/Rubbish Policy

If your trash is full prior to checkout, we have provided two options:

1) There are trash and recycling bins (blue) located behind the building that may be accessed by walking down to the basement and out the back door.

2) For trash and recycling items that oversized, use the rear door in the courtyard that leads out to the alley to dispose of these items. Trash pickup is every Monday and Thursday. Items must be brought to the curb no later than 7 am on collection day, but no earlier than 5 pm the night prior. For holiday pickup scheduling, go to https://www.boston.gov/trash-day-app.

We’ll take care of any normal trash in the unit upon check-out.

Laundry

PLEASE DO NOT USE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 11AM - 4PM

Laundry facilities are located on the lowest level of the building in the basement. Washing machines are free of charge and each dry cycle cost $1.50, but you must supply your own detergent. Please use only high efficiency detergent in the washing machine.

Keys / Access

The building is equipped with keyless locks, which require a code to open. Codes have 4 been provided to you by phone, text or email. If you’ve lost or forgotten your codes, please call or email us. We will respond as quickly as possible to get you back in your unit. Storing Your Bags Before/After Check-In If you arrive before your scheduled check-in at 4pm, you are more than welcome to leave your bags in the basement of the building near the laundry machines. That being said, feel free to call us on the day of your arrival to see if an early check-in is possible.

Heating and Cooling Heating and cooling for each unit is controlled via a wall thermostat (some units have separate thermostats for heating and cooling, which are labeled). All units use central AC and electric baseboard heating.

Receiving Mail/Packages All guests are welcome to ship packages to the building. That being said, we don’t assign mail boxes and won’t be held responsible for lost or damaged packages. We recommend that all guests who would like to receive mail rent a PO Box at one of the nearby post offices. The closest one to your building is the Astor Station Post Office located at 207 Ave; about 9 minutes walking distance from the property.

You can get most places in Boston by using the MBTA (the “T”). There are bus stops and subway stops within walking distance. The Subway (T) – Getting Around Inbound is always toward , and Outbound is away from it. In the subway system, Inbound is toward four stations: Park Street, State, Downtown Crossing and Government Center. (Within those four stations, Inbound and Outbound are not used.) Green Line Tips Green Line trains (also called “streetcars” or “trolleys”) have letters for different branches: B-Boston College; C-Cleveland Circle; D-Riverside; E-Heath Street. • All trains stop at Government Center, Park Street, Boylston, Arlington and Copley. • Al trains except E also stop at Hynes Convention Center/ICA and Kenmore. • Only E trains stop at Prudential and Symphony. • On the eastern end, only D and E trains go past Government Center to Haymarket, North Station, Science Park and Lechmere. • A red line through the letter on a sign means that the train goes only part way on that branch (For example, a D line car only going as far as Reservoir.). There is no free transfer between inbound and outbound at Copley. Use Arlington instead. Blue Line Tips (Airport) The Blue Line is the train to take to and from the airport.

Red Line Tips The Red Line runs from Cambridge to Braintree/. Most Red Line trains stop at all stations between Alewife and Andrew, including Harvard and Park Street. During rush hours, some trains may terminate at Park Street. The last transfer point between the two Red Line branches (Braintree and Ashmont) is at JFK/UMass.

Orange Line Tips The Orange Line runs from Melrose to . A tip for the – Follow the underground walkway from , via the Dartmouth Street underpass, through Copley Place shopping area, across the Huntington Avenue bridge, and then through the Prudential Center to Boylston Street.
