l 2011 - ORSON WEST (ópera prima) A film crew arrives in a borderland village of the Spanish hinterland to film a low-budget western, which changes the daily routine of the area's inhabitants, particularly that of a group of young boys. The film shoot also represents the return to her native land of Sonia, who after many years away, goes back to her village to play the leading role in the film in the midst of a landscape which brings back unresolved issues from her past. However, this is not the first time that the cinema industry has explored these lands. Fifty years before, Orson Welles wanted to film another western in the same area. (Français) Une équipe de cinéma arrive dans un village situé à la frontière des provinces d'Alicante et de Murcie, dans le sud de l'Espagne, pour tourner un western à petit budget, un évènement qui va altérer la petite vie tranquille des habitants du coin, notamment pour un petit groupe d'enfants. Par ailleurs, pour Sonia, l'actrice principale du film, ce tournage implique un retour dans son village natal, où elle n'a pas mis les pieds depuis de nombreuses années. Le paysage qui l'entoure fera remonter à la surface des histoires appartenant à un passé qu´elle n´a pas encore refermé. Cependant, ce n'est pas la première fois que le cinéma s'invite en ces lieux. Cinquante ans plus tôt, Orson Welles s'était lui aussi rendu sur ces terres dans l'intention de tourner un western. Dans un exercice métacinématographique, le réalisateur Fran Ruvira s'attache donc à suivre la piste de ce western fantôme qui n'aura jamais vu le jour, en prenant parti pour la légende et l'inachevé en tant que formes d'expression.

El simbolismo que encierra la gestación y la peripecia vivida por los frescos que elaboró por encargo de la República Española para el pabellón de España en la Exposición Universal de Nueva York de 1939, los sitúa como eje narrativo fundamental de la historia que pretende desarrollar este documental.

A look at the life and work of Luis Quintanilla, with his abundance of experience and presence in the most unique moment in Spain's recent history. This documentary aims to address what the enormous loss the exodus of one the most significant intellectuals in Spain, as a fatal result of the Civil War, meant for Spanish culture. The symbolism enclosed in the gestation and the vicissitude of the frescos he produced for the Spanish Republic for Spain's pavilion in the World's Fair in New York in 1939 form the key narrative focal point the documentary endeavours to highlight.

Rosario Francesc es ama de casa y no tiene hijos. La vida le iba bien, le publicaban relatos cortos y podría decirse que era escritora profesional, pero su marido se divorció de ella y decidió formar otra familia, haciendo que el mundo de Rosario se rompiese en añicos. Rosario perdió el hilo, la coherencia y ahora su vida consiste en fragmentos cuyo hilo conductor parece no asomar por ninguna parte. Sin embargo, la vida de Martín, su ex marido, parece perfectamente reconstruida; se caso con una mujer joven y tienen un niño precioso, las cosas le van bien y Rosario no puede asimilar el terrible abismo comparativo. Inconscientemente se vuelve una voyeur obsesiva de la estructurada y coherente vida de su ex marido, mientras ella intenta recomponer la suya. La vida de Rosario es, pues, un conjunto de fragmentos; ella hace un exhaustivo ejercicio de exploración en esos fragmentos para volver a construir su mundo.

Rosario Francesc is a housewife without children. Life was going well, she used to get her short stories published and could even say she was a professional writer, until her husband filed for divorce to start another family. It tore Rosario's life apart, she lost her way, lacked coherence, and now her life is just series of fragments that seem to be leading nowhere.
