Using Technology to Advance the New Evangelization This day‐long Congress provides an opportunity to hear our nationally‐known keynote speaker Deacon Greg Kandra, attend Mass celebrated by Chappetto, participate in workshops, enjoy lunch, and view the exhibits. Resources will be available for purchase. The various workshop presenters, as well as Deacon Greg Kandra, will develop the themes of Using Technology to Advance the New Evangelization.

Keynote Address by Deacon Greg Kandra Deacon Greg Kandra is the Multimedia Editor for Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), a pontifical society founded by Pope Pius XI in 1926. He oversees the agency’s blog “One‐to‐One” and edits its award‐winning magazine, ONE. He is also the creator of the popular blog, “The Deacon’s Bench,” carried on the spiritual website, Patheos. “The Bench” has attracted over seven million visitors from around the world since it was launched in 2007, and today garners more than FORMATION

300,000 page views a month. He has received every major award in broadcasting – including two Emmys, two Peabody Awards and four awards from the Writer’s Guild of America. His spiritual writing and essays have been honored multiple times by the Catholic Press Association. His homilies are among those featured in the collections “Hungry and You Fed Me” and “Naked and You Clothed Me” (Clear Faith Publishing). A Maryland native, Deacon Greg graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in English. He and his wife live in Forest Hills, New York, where he serves as deacon at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs parish.

Ellie Jensen Generation Life‐ A Discussion on the Media Youth & Young Adult recently spoke of the internet as “gift from God” Marriage & Respect challenging us to “proclaim Christ in the digital age”. Life This workshop will provide practical ideas on how to use media in chastity education and human sexuality catechesis. Michael Introduction to Film and Media in Youth Ministry Youth & Young Adult This workshop will inform youth ministers on the role of the various Germano forms of media in their culture as well as practical ideas on how to incorporate film into ministry activities.
