TOTTINGTON HIGH SCHOOL Excellence Through Partnership 1st April 2020 Dear parents and carers, I hope that this letter finds you and your family managing to keep fit and well. We are certainly living in challenging times! We are now approaching the school’s Easter break. Over the holidays, we are continuing to work with our cluster partners – Unsworth Academy in particular – to offer provision for children should it be needed. This is for children of critical workers or vulnerable children as previously outlined. If you are a critical worker or the parent / carer of a vulnerable child and you need to take up a supervision place in school over Easter, please contact Mr Taylor, Deputy Headteacher, by email on [email protected]. Similarly, we are aware that family circumstances and shift patterns can change. With this in mind, if you are a critical worker and require a place for your child in school after the Easter break, please could you also contact Mr Taylor as above. Our work with Woodhey High School and Unsworth Academy has meant that we have been able to maintain a skeleton staffing while providing for small numbers of children. After the Easter break, Tottington High School will be joined by two new members of staff. Mrs Brett will be taking up her role as the Headteacher and Mr Shepherd will take up the post of Head of Computing, Business Studies and ICT. For both of these colleagues, it will be the most unusual of starts into their new roles, but I have every confidence that you will welcome them warmly. On a personal note, I have very much enjoyed joining the Tottington community over the last three months and will be continuing to work in close collaboration with the school in my role in the Trust. With my thanks to you all, as ever, at this challenging time; please keep safe and well. Wishing you all a relaxing and positive Easter break. Yours sincerely, Julie Yarwood Headteacher, Tottington High School Mrs J Yarwood Headteacher Tottington High School, Laurel Street, Tottington, Bury.
