The GMCA is a franchising authority as defined in the 2000 Act. B The GMCA gave notice of its intention to prepare an assessment of a proposed scheme in accordance with sections 123B and section 123C(4) of the 2000 Act on 30 June 2017. Having complied with the process as set out in the Act, the GMCA may determine to make the scheme in accordance with sections 123G and 123H of the 2000 Act. NOW, therefore, the Mayor on behalf of the GMCA, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 123G and 123H of the 2000 Act, and of all other enabling powers, hereby MAKES THE FOLLOWING FRANCHISING SCHEME (the "Scheme"): 1. -

2021 SECONDARY CO-ORDINATED ADMISSIONS SCHEME This Scheme is formulated in accordance with the School Admissions Code which came into force on 19th December 2014. Trafford LA has formulated this Scheme in relation to each school in the Trafford area. APPLICATION PROCEDURE i) In the autumn term of the offer year all parents of Year 6 children will be invited to submit an application. Information on how to apply will be sent to all parents of pupils resident in Trafford, at their home address. ii) An advertisement will be placed in the local press inviting parents who are resident in Trafford whose children may not currently be attending a Trafford primary school to submit an application. iii) Information will be sent to all parents by 12 September in the offer year and they will be asked to submit their application by 31 October, thereby ensuring that all parents have the statutory 6 week period in which to express their preferences. -

Christmas Grapevine 2019
BURY CHURCH OF ENGLAND HIGH SCHOOL DECEMBER 2019 FAREWELL It is with a great degree of sadness that I find myself writing this, my final article for the Grapevine newsletter. I will be stepping down as Headteacher of Bury CE High School after seven years, having joined the school in September 2012. It has been a privilege to lead this wonderful historic school. To have been part of a community that goes back to 1748 has been an enormous joy and I have loved it. The Governors will determine who the new Head will be to take on the reins and lead the school forward in the next stage of its development. I want to say thank you to all who have supported the school during my period as Headteacher. To parents and carers, I would say a big thank you for entrusting your children into our care. I have had the joy of seeing your children turn into amazing young men and women of whom we, and you, can be immensely proud. To those who have been friends of the school, I would thank you for your support over the years. Your help has enabled us to achieve vastly more than we could have ever imagined. Whether it has been clergy giving up their time to come in and lead services, or Alumni giving generously to support prizes and fund-raising activities, or the community coming together to remember those who are no longer with us at remembrance events, it has all added to the achievements of this school. -

School Bus Services in Bury September 2019 to July 2020 Services in this leaflet operate on schooldays only, unless otherwise stated. Although provided primarily for school students, members of the public may use these services. Services are listed alphabetically under school names. An introduction to School buses and concessionary fares for students in Greater Manchester Passengers can pay a fare to the driver for each journey shown on this timetable. However, students will need to show an IGO pass to travel at the concessionary (reduced) fare. If students do not have an IGO pass, they will have to pay a higher fare. Most of the journeys shown in this timetable are funded by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The majority of TfGM funded services charge a standard fare and also offer daily return tickets. In some cases, the return ticket can also be used for travel on other journeys which serve similar areas – even if it is provided by a different operator. On most services, students can also buy a weekly scholar’s ticket, which costs £7.40 These are ONLY valid on schooldays on school buses and are available from the bus driver on all services where they are applicable. To help the driver, please try to have the correct fare when buying your ticket. Bury Church of England High School Sponsored by: BUTCHER & BARLOW, Solicitors & Notaries MAY 2016 HEADTEACHER’S REFLECTION At this time of year, we are all looking forward to the return of the sun as we move into the summer months. The school is settling down to the annual routine of GCSE examinations, having commissioned our Year 11 pupils at Bury Parish Church on Thursday 12 May. The day was a very enjoyable time with a „This is your life at Bury CE High School‟ assembly followed by a special commissioning meal in the suitably decorated School Hall. The pupils reflected on who was most likely to go on to various achievements such as Prime Minister before getting ready to move up to Bury Parish church for their commissioning service. The service was led by the Bury Parish Church School Chaplain, Rev Rhiannon Jones, and the Rector presided at communion. We welcomed many parents, grand-parents and friends of the school to join us at the service. After the event, I received a letter from one of the departing Year 11 pupils who wrote “After the excellent and emotional commissioning service yesterday, I felt obliged to write this letter of thanks to you and your incredible team of staff for the brilliant experience I have had at our exemplary school.” Quite a compliment from someone who knows what the school really has to offer. One of the things that is distinctive about Bury CE High School is its commitment to learning in a world context. We believe in the Global Dimension to learning and seek to set our learning in an international context. -

Rainey B.Ed (Hons) Admissions Policy September 2021 Entry Policy and Numbers Saint Ambrose College is a state funded Independent Roman Catholic Grammar School for boys aged 11 – 18. The normal admission years are for pupils aged 11 and 16. The number of intended admissions for the year commencing 1st September 2021 for First Year (Year 7) will be 140 and for external applicants at Lower Sixth (Year 12) is 20. A copy of the School prospectus is available to download from the School website or available in hard copy on request. Definitions “looked after children” and all previously looked after children. A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority, in the exercise of their social services functions (as defined in Section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989). Previously looked after children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order (as defined in Section 14A of the Children Act 1989). This also includes children who have been in a state of care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A child is regarded as having been in a state of care in a place outside of England if they were accommodated by a public authority, a religious organisation or any other provider of care whose sole purpose is to benefit society.
