CMSD moves closer to building Dedication of Veteran’s Park new O. H. Perry school

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District, along with the Ward 8 community, is one step closer to building a new Oliver H. Perry School. CMSD went before the Landmarks Commission on Friday, April 15. The project was temporarily held for want of additional information and documentation. The present schedule calls for groundbreaking in late August or early September and the completion of work by December 2017. The school will be built on the eastern end of the property, between Schenely Avenue and Harland Avenue, next to the existing school. This will avoid the need to relocate students during construction. A volunteer advisory committee made up of district representatives, community leaders, neighborhood residents and community partners Dedication is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 12th has been meeting since last summer to help architects with the building The former Triangle Park, located at E. 174th and Lakeshore Blvd., is design, site plan and traffic flow. being transformed into Veteran’s Park to honor “all the courageous men and The Cleveland Educational Design Alliance (CEDA) designed the building and is affiliated with TDA Architecture. women of the greater and Nottingham Communities… who The new school will hold 470 students, with one classroom for volunteered to boldly defend and valiantly preserve our nation’s liberties preschool and two for each level from kindergarten through eighth and freedoms.” grade.
