1 List of Ensemble • Chorus • Orchestras • Directors LIST O F ENSEMBLE • CHORUS • ORCHESTRAS • DIRECTORS Here we list, in alphabetical order, the instrumental groups, chorus, orchestras, and relative directors; and some soloists, described in the titles of the different Musical Sections. The directors’names, whereas they do appear on the support cover, are in italics after the one of the orchestra. If an orchestra is quoted more and more times in titles with different directors, after the ensemble name there will be that of directors divided by the symbol •. Some names of orchestras can be quoted more than one time. In this case, it deals with different groups that have the same name. Some names could be written in different ways, depending on what is mentioned on the cover. For example: the “Cappella de’ Turchini”, can even be named “Cappella della Pietà de’ Turchini”. Some groups can be listed with just their name (for example: Oni Wytars) or with the word “ensemble” before the name (for example: Ensemble Oni Wytars). All the names in this list are however described as they are on the support. The names are lacking whereas the ensembles, chorus, etc, have been mentioned as “Various performers”. CD SECTION 2 Of this Section have been quoted the lists of the following Subsections: Antiquity 2 Middle Ages 2 Renaissance 9 Baroque 18 Classicism 35 Other music for castrato 45 Reunited music of various ages 47 Ancient Music among philology and revisiting 55 Eight and Nine Hundred 58 Ethnic • Traditional • National • Celtic Music 61 Soundtracks (List of Authors) 63 LP SECTION 65 Of this Section has been quoted the list of the following Subsection: From Middle Age to Classicism 65 DVD - VHS SECTION 72 1 CD SECTION ANTIQUITY Atrium Musicae de Madrid Gregorio Paniagua Ensemble Melpomen Conrad Steinmann Hathor Ensemble Rafael Pérez Arroyo Instrumental Ensemble Suzanne Haïk Vantoura OP & PO Orchestra Christodoulos Halaris Synaulia Walter Maioli MIDDLE AGE Abdelkrim Rais Andalusian Orchestra of Fès Mohammed Briouel Academie Internationale de Sées Bernard Gagnepain Acantus Accademia Jaufré Rudel Giuseppe Paolo Cecere Al Qantarah Alia Musica Miguel Sánchez Alla Francesca Brigitte Lesne Altramar Medieval Music Ensemble Amarcord Anima Mundi Consort Anonymous 4 Ars Antiqua de Paris Michel Sanvoisin Ars Cameralis Lukáš Matoušek Ars Choralis Coeln Ars Nova Italiana August Wenzinger Arte Factum Atrium Musicae de Madrid Gregorio Paniagua Aurea Proportio Aurora Surgit Alessio Randon Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of Saint Maurice & Saint Maur, Clervaux Benedictinerabteien Montserrat Pater. Early Music Review EDITIONS OF MUSIC here are thirteen works in the present volume. The first two are masses by John Bedingham, while the others are anonymous mass movements (either New from Stainer & Bell T single or somehow related). Previous titles in the series have been reviewed by Clifford Bartlett, and I confess this English Thirteenth-century Polyphony is the first time I have looked at repertory from this period A Facsimile Edition by William J. Summers & Peter M. since I studied Du Fay at university! At that time I also Lefferts sang quite a lot of (slightly later) English music, so I am not Stainer & Bell, 2016. Early English Church Music, 57 completely unfamiliar with it. I was immediately struck 53pp+349 plates. by the rhythmic complexity and delighted to see that the ISMN 979 0 2202 2405 8; ISBN 978 0 85249 940 5 editions preserve the original note values and avoids bar £180 lines - one might expect this to complicate matters with ligatures and coloration to contend with, but actually it is his extraordinarily opulent volume (approx. 12 laid out in such a beautiful way that everything miraculously inches by 17 and weighing more than seven pounds makes perfect sense. Most of the pieces are in two or three T- apologies for the old school measurements!) is a parts (a fourth part – called “Tenor bassus” – is added to marvel to behold. The publisher has had to use glossy paper the Credo of Bedingham’s Mass Dueil angoisseux in only in order to give the best possible colour reproductions of one of the sources).

The asked what stands in the way of integration, whether we can simultaneously think globally and think regionally and what are the strengths and weakness in the inherent processes and present outcomes over the many domains of society (which approaches to the challenges involved could be most effective for all parts of society) and in all parts of the world. In continuation, the Balkan world received a check up and (and the pressures affecting the region were assessed and global pulse was measured. Tensions between the Russian Federation and the United States of America, migration resulting from armed conflict and poverty in the Middle East, tensions within the European Union after the UK Brexit vote, and the new strategic paradigm of macro-regionalization were high on the agenda. The role of China was agreed to be of key importance in the global system. A number of presentations / additional discussion covered the ongoing global socio-economic crisis and a description of potentially accelerating global catastrophe; the survival of humanity and man’s future together with its rough edges and the paradoxes of life; our responsibility as a precondition for peace, the new Cold War and allocation of guilt; migration as an exceedingly complex problem, peace in the Middle East and the lack of Global Governance.

DieFestival Alte Musik Zürich Elemente23. Sept. – 03.

NEWSLETTER of The American Handel Society Volume XXVII, Number 2 Summer 2012 FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK SUMMER 2012 I would like to thank all the members of the Society who have paid their membership dues for 2012, and especially those who paid to be members of the Georg-Friedrich-Händel Gesellschaft and/or friends of The Handel Institute before the beginning of June, as requested by the Secretary/Treasurer. For those of you who have not yet renewed your memberships, may I urge you to do so. Each year the end of spring brings with it the Handel Festivals in Halle and Göttingen, the latter now regularly scheduled around the moveable date of Pentecost, which is a three-day holiday in Germany. Elsewhere in this issue of the Newsletter you will find my necessarily selective Report from Halle. While there I heard excellent reports on the staging of Amadigi at Göttingen. Perhaps other members of the AHS would be willing to provide reports on the performances at Göttingen, and also those at Halle that I was unable to attend. If so, I am sure that the Newsletter Angelica Kauffmann, British, born in Switzerland, 1741-1807 Portrait of Sarah Editor would be happy to receive them.
