Hej, intressant grålinje. 5020 SIBC. På sekunden! there. Almost every night I record the MW band. With Jaguar tit is not possible to record SW. There was a big opening towards Venezuela on Sept 6. About 15 stations was heard with tre- mendous signals. Very exciting to again hear R Rumbos. Long time ago very strong on SW.

Carlos Goncalves Ron Howard . Picture of local sunset recently, while listening to my shortwave radio. tried to send an xls- file as attachment. Unfortunately the virus scanner at sverige.net stops such attachments from older office packages like mine Office 2007. So the recommendation is to upgrade to avoid this to happen.

Yet another good day here; pop Pacific Islands music; 1201 PNG bird call; "NBC News in Brief" (item about PNG’s national oil and gas company Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited, also Nepal has banned an Indian couple from mountain climbing in that country due to digitally altered fake photographs of them on summit of Mount Everest); still semi-readable (Ron Howard, Calif., USA) 3310 Sep4 0039 Radio Mosoj Chaski, Cotapachi, Quechua, comments, Bolivian songs, clear id. :"Mosoj Chaski Radio". Going by Ron Howard`s obs; but beware: RRI Palangkaraya is also active from before 1000 until 1700v*, per Atsunori Ishida. In fact, Bougainville was off that date, so must have been RRI, per Ron Howard: NBC Bougainville 1109-1116, Sept 3. No trace of them; clearly off the air; hearing better than normal signal from Pro 1 RRI Palangkaraya; in fact last few days have not heard Bougainville at all. Hiroyuki Komatsubara (Japan) reports Sept 1, at 0904, no NBC signal and Sept 2, again no signal at 0925. What happe- ned? Bougainville had been doing very well last month. 3325, Pro 1 RRI Palangkaraya, 1111, Sept 3, with the nice patriotic song "Garuda Pancasila"; NBC Bougainville not heard this month, so no QRM`` (Glenn Hauser) 3325 Sep9 -1202* NBC Bougainville. Transmitter suddenly on and audio quickly followed; strong OTH radar (later off); news in Russian with sound bites; 1010 usual "Radio Rossii" ID; traditional Russian song; their national network. 1103 news (no OTH radar); 1110 usual "Radio Rossii" ID; pop hit song (sounded like a Prince song); their national network. Radio Rossii Primorye : by 1250 good signal strength but had intermittent crackling (assume their transmitter); 1257 not the usual Radio Rossii ID, but instead the unique ID of "Radio Rossii Primorye"; ToH time pips and usual "Radio Rossii" ID; 1300 into their national network. So 1210 to 1300 is indeed local programming (not the natio- nal network), which conforms nicely with Sei-ichi Hasegawa (Japan) posting (thanks very much Sei-ichi): "Radio Rossii Premor'e Local Px at 1210-1300UT on 5900kHz via ???(Khabarovsk). As ID "V efire Radio Rossii Primor'e". It seems to be a special service of the flood damage by typhoon"Lionrock"." My audio of ID through ToH today at http://goo.gl/UEOJFj . Special thanks to Mauno Ritola for his Russian linguistic assistance yesterday. (Ron Howard, Calif., USA) 5900 Sep8 1300 Radio Rossii (national network), 1300, Sept 8. Switched from local programming to na- tional network; time pips; "Radio Rossii" ID and the news. My audio (very clear "Radio Rossii Primorye" ID) at http://goo.gl/Pv0s1c . A bit of flutter but otherwise good. Happy to see this one back. (David Sharp- NSW) 5900 Sep4 1405 R. Rossii (site?). Thanks to tips from Ron Howard & Ivo Ivanov (HCDX), i caught a few minutes of RR above the noise this morning--mostly RU chat, some operatic-style singing & a nice "Radyo Rossii" ID @ 1409. Surprised the signal isn't better as most FE RU sta- tions heard in the past had usually quite good signals. (Dan Sheedy) 5900 1014 1100 Radio Rossi, Khabarovsk, presumed, no more than a threshold signal out of this one w/ similar situation on 1100 recheck. (XM) 5909.978 Aug31 0556 Alcaraván Radio likewise remeasured, compared to 5909.95 earlier. No trace of possible leapfrog mixing products around 5810 or 6110 now that both frequencies are clear. Vanuatu" in vernacular; regional news ("Minister of Foreign Affairs from New Zealand, Murray McCully," about improvement of Kiribati’s waste management, water and sanitation, as well as maritime safety; Prime Minister of Samoa about food security and local markets; etc.); "sports news" (New Caledonia beats Papua New Guinea 4-1, etc.); 1318 ends with main news items again; "Radio Vanuatu" ID; news & sports surprising readable; into C&W song in English and more music; // 3944.2 (poor). Very much appreciate Dave Valko's help in confirming I m hearing AKR, as he was listening via remote today and heard same type of music (repetitive) as I was. Nice to have it confirmed AKR does not sign off at 1215*, as per Aoki. Am hearing this much stronger than last year! After 1230 is unusable due to CNR2 signing on with strong signal (Ron Howard, Calif., USA) 7295 Sep6 1026 R. Sakha, via Yakutsk. FALKLAND ISLANDS. The former Falkland Islands Radio Service, which sometimes informally identified on air as 'Falklands Radio', has now made it official. Falklands Radio has a revamped website at a new URL - www.radio.co.fk - offering live audio streaming when they are carrying their own programming, and a programme guide indicating when that is. Observed online this morning (2 September 2016) opening with a news bulletin from BFBS at 10:00 followed by their own Breakfast Show at 10:10 UT. (David Kernick, Interval Signals Online via DXLD)

page 8 RUSSIA . Hi Wolfie, The first-hand info on the R Rossii SW transmissions has appeared in our open_dx mailing list. I believe you'll get it from Anatoly Klepov on Sunday in a Google-translated version -- but surely it's better to use the hu- man-translated one. ======I visited the Roskomnadzor Primorye branch office on Sep 05 and was told that reactivated R Rossii SW transmissions go on the air from Vladivostok/Razdolnoye. Here is the schedule: 0200-0700 7245 0700-1000 9895 1000-1500 5900 1500-2100 7350 All frequencies are heard well in Vladivostok. (Sergey, RV3DSA/0, currently in Vladivostok, via Anatoly Klepov / RUS-DX, Moscow, in open_dx) = = = = = My comment: indeed, the time slot 1210-1300 is used for Radio Rossii Primorye (confirmed by listening via Australian KiwiSDR yesterday, Sep 06). Quite late for the local programming, as it was 2210-2300 in Vladivostok; that's a bit strange, By the way, most of the air time in this slot was given to parliamentary candidates who presented their election platforms. So maybe this is another reason for the temporarily SW revival, in addition to the Lionrock caused damage? Elections will take place on Sep 18. (Best 73s, Dmitry Kazan, RUS via Wofgang Büschel)

[A-DX] DK8OK: PropLab 3.1: How Propagation really works
