AUCTION 2019ST. THOMAS SCHOOL

STUDIO The mission of St. Thomas School is to develop responsible citizens of a global society. In partnership with parents, we inspire and motivate intellectually curious students. Our small, nurturing environment supports the acquisition of a broad academic foundation with an emphasis on critical thinking, leadership skills, and the development of strong character and spiritual awareness.

St. Thomas School Auction March 16, 2019 – 6:00 p.m. The Westin Bellevue Welcome

Dear Parents and Friends of St. Thomas School,

This evening’s success is the result of an amazing collaborative effort of many parents in our community who have given of their time, creativity, and generous spirit. We would like to extend our deep appreciation to this year’s Co-Chairs, Lexie Rowell and Sarah Oeltjen, for their wonderful leadership.

The funds raised tonight directly benefit our students by supporting our operating budget, including faculty salaries, student financial aid, and classroom equipment and supplies. Tonight’s Raise-the-Paddle will fund the purchase of retractable seating for our new building’s Gym/Theatre space. Every child, from Preschool through 8th Grade, will benefit from your generosity this evening.

This has been an amazing year for St. Thomas School. We believe educational excellence stems from the development of character and core academic skills. These cornerstones form the foundation on which the school was built and continue as the basis of our educational program today.

On behalf of our entire community of outstanding students, thank you for your participation and support. Enjoy your evening!

Kirk M. Wheeler, Ed.D. Glyn Nordstrom Head of School Board of Trustees, President Studio 54

Dear Families and Friends,

Welcome to the 2019 St. Thomas School Auction, Studio 54! We are so excited you’re here tonight for what promises to be a groovy step back in time.

Tonight, we raise money to support our school and everything that makes it excellent. We feel lucky, blessed, and honored to be a part of this community. By contributing tonight, we enable the faculty and staff to continue to provide not only the highest level of academic education for our children, but also ensure that our children’s school experience is inspiring, motivating and enriching.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible St. Thomas School staff who have worked tirelessly to make this evening happen, including a very special thank you to Leila Thomas, Barbara Anderson and Brittany Council. Thank you also to our amazing auction community for their support which included spending a whole day driving and delivering invitations, standing in front of the school wearing their best disco garb and helping throughout this process by putting together the exciting items we are all about to bid on. We want to extend our immense gratitude to Ileigh Reynolds from Animate Objects Physical Theater for sharing her incredible talents and time to recreate the nostalgia of Studio 54 that we are enjoying tonight.

We toast you, our St. Thomas School community, and wish you all a wonderful evening. Thank you for your support!

Thank You St. Thomas School Raise-the-Paddle

Each year at our St. Thomas School Auction, we raise our bid cards to support a particular area of the school during our “Raise-the-Paddle.” This year’s focus is on supporting a very important part of our Completing Our Campus building project.

STS has purchased an easement from Overlake Golf & Country Club, allowing us to build a new building to include a Gymnasium with locker rooms and storage, a Theatre space, a Music and Drama classroom, and a Rooftop Playfield.

Funds raised tonight during our Raise-the-Paddle will go towards the telescopic seating that will retract into the wall of the new Gym. These are rows of theatre-style seats, that will be used for athletic events and music and theatre performances. For basketball and volleyball games, we will be able to accommodate up to 100 spectators. For full theatrical performances, all of the rows will be used, accommodating nearly 600 people. This is an essential part of the extraordinary flexibility of these spaces, and we appreciate your support!
