This process involves opening the sealed ballot boxes to remove the Statement of the Poll and to officially add up the numbers of ballots cast for each candidate and the number of rejected ballots. On completion, the returning officer declares the name of the candidate for whom the greatest number of ballots were cast. A Certificate of Official Addition is produced and signed. This is the official count. At the Official Addition, the vote in the electoral district of Vuntut Gwitchin was confirmed as tied. An application for a recount has been made to the Supreme Court. Details are to follow. At the Official Addition the corrections to the unofficial list are noted below. There is no change to the results. • Porter Creek South: Three (3) additional votes were added to the total votes received by Paolo Galina. • Lake Laberge: Ten (10) additional votes were added to the total votes received by Tracey Jacobs. The results from 175 polls (polling day polls, special ballots and advance polls) are tallied, phoned into returning offices, and reported by the returning officers. The Official Addition – Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 10AM The Official Addition is the addition of the vote totals from the official statements of the poll conducted by the returning officer. Following the close of polls, sealed ballot boxes along with documentation are returned to the returning officers for the official addition.
