WELCOME TO “THE WAY”

By Metropolitan Stefan Soroka

Welcome, by brothers and sisters in Christ to The Way on our website! News from the archeparchy, news and developments within our Ukrainian , and teachings about our faith and about our traditions in both languages will now be offered on this website. Our priority is to help everyone to grow in knowledge of their faith, and to come to a greater appreciation and understanding of our rich traditions as a Ukrainian Catholic.

We hope that you will find the new format and the presentations interesting and informative. Please feel welcome to contact us with your inquiries and suggestions. We are always open to receiving positive feedback so that the mission of the Church can be fulfilled. We ask your help to inform family members, neighbors and friends about this website, so that people across our nation and beyond may benefit from it. As you know, The Way will no longer be available in print form. Clergy and others are welcome to re- print items with the provision that this website source is identified.

We welcome the coordinating efforts of our Chancellor and Director of Communications for our archeparchy, Rev. Msgr. Peter Waslo. He will provide the direction for the development and content of The Way, with the assistance of Rev. Ihor Royik. They will be ably assisted by the full-time assistance of Teresa Siwak, who will share her gifts and talents in the development of the format and in the research and preparation of relevant material for The Way. There will be a gradual introduction of new methods of presenting material; so please return to the site regularly.

We invite our clergy, religious and faithful to submit short articles, sharing your views, stories and concerns. The Way can become a rich tool for mutual sharing and learning. We will leave it to the editors to ensure that material will be relevant and brief. I personally look forward to sharing my thoughts and hopes with you regularly in The Way.

The introduction of change can be an exciting challenge, if we choose to be hopeful and productive people. Fiscal and other limitations have necessitated a different approach. Rather that give up, we place our efforts in this website approach to fulfill what the printed paper previously accomplished, and possibly more. I believe that this approach will prove to be more effective and rewarding in our evangelization efforts in these times, reaching people of all ages and throughout our nation. Please choose to be a part of our team of attempting to fulfill our mission to evangelize! It’s our baptismal call! God bless you!
