Specifically, we aim to address the issue of dealing with vulnerability in logistics dependent on the degree of connectivity. To resolve this issue, we investigate (i) the current level of local railway station sustainability performance from the perspectives of the value of the station (node) and the geographical location (place), and (ii) how railway station network management can prepare for imminent internal and external risks. Integrating node–place analysis and social network analysis approaches, we demonstrate a means of assessing (i) local railway station performance by comparing how one station’s value differs from that of other stations, and (ii) overall railway network performance by measuring the degree of connectivity based on the centrality characteristics. Consequently, we recommend improvement in planning orders considering the degree of local performance and network vulnerability for railway station network sustainability. With the enactment of the Korea Appraisal Board Act in September 2016, KAB has undergone a transformation from an organization specializing in real estate appraisal to an organization dedicated to real estate market surveys and management as well as making announcements of official land value and related statistics. Maintaining order and stability in the Korean real estate market is an especially important task undertaken by KAB. The KAB Real Estate Market Report published semiannually in the first and second halves of the year provides reliable information on the real estate market including the future outlook, based on comprehensive and in-depth analyses of the current trends, with the aim of ensuring order in the real estate market. The real estate market in Korea in 2016 became more stable compared to the previous year due to the influence of the economic slowdown and the new loan restriction policy concerning tighter loan review regulations. Notable trends in the year included the overheated pre-construction parceling-out market for the Gangnam reconstruction projects and the rise in housing prices in the Seoul Capital Area; however, following the announcement of the real estate policy on November 3, 2016 speculative investments declined, and the market became more stabilized centering on actual demand. Also, in some of the regions outside the Seoul Capital Area, real estate prices began to be on a downturn as a result of an industrial recession and increased housing supply. -

Incheon International Airport Incheon International Airport (ICN) is the main and largest international airport in Korea. The city of Daejeon is located approximately 220km south of ICN. The proximity to the HSR station could be considered as a core district to maximize the industrial benefit through the HSR network. From this perspective, this study considers the agglomeration effect of HSR within the HSR station-area and analyzed the agglomerated spatial pattern through hotspot analysis by service industry in the cases of Korea and Japan using GIS. This study analyzed the service industry within 1km distance from 8 HSR stations of Korea and 4 Kyushu Shinkansen stations of Japan. The results suggest that the hotspot patterns are observed in the service industry within 1km distance from the HSR station of Korea and Japan, except for two HSR stations of Gupo station and Kagoshima-Chuo station. Leisure, amusement, association, and other specific service industries could be affected by HSR passengers and knowledge-spillovers through HSR station. Therefore, the observed hotspot districts near the HSR station-area could explain an agglomeration pattern of the service industry through a closeness to the HSR station. -

Report 20 18 CEO’s Message After the first publication last year, Kakao Mobility Corp. issued the second kakaomobility Report. Since its launch of Kakao T Taxi in March 2015, Kakao Mobility Corp. established its independent entity in August 2017, and introduced Kakao T by consolidating Kakao Taxi, Kakao Driver, Kakao Navi, and Kakao Parking. A large amount of travel data has been collected while Kakao Mobility Corp. has been committed to pursuing innovation. This Report shows our society’s dynamic aspects based on our collected mobility data. Many people have contributed to the publication of this Report. First of all, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Kakao T users who have provided real time travel data. I also would like to thank taxi drivers and designated drivers for responding to surveys and interviews for this Report. Such valuable information will become a meaningful foundation for Kakao Mobility Corp. to improve customer services and constantly pursue innovation. With the age of digital transformation, the mobility industry worldwide has been experiencing a big change. In particular, travel innovation is considered as a meaningful innovation that can make many people’s life safer and more convenient and create more chances for a happier life by broadening the sphere of living. This mobility business is rapidly growing in a world of borderless competition. However, I am very worried that Korea may fall behind global competition and lose a chance to take the lead in innovation due to several regulations and conflicts. While the original intention of Railo was to increase train use, it has become a popular travel culture phenomenon among youth since its inception in 2007. Passengers traveling with a Railo pass call themselves Rail-ers (Railers2) and identify themselves as a cultural group. It has not only increased the number of rail users, but also strongly influenced domestic tourism by adding an inflow of young travelers into local areas and changing their perception of domestic tourism. It is remarkable that a distinct youth culture has been created through Railo, considering the lack of healthy leisure opportunities for youth in Korea. -

RPUL III diterbitkan dengan tujuan memberikan penerangan akan adanya suatu universitas yang memberikan kesempatan pendidikan dan riset sekaligus mampu menjamin kesejahteraan dari mahasiswanya di negeri Korea. Melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang lebih tinggi tentunya merupakan suatu impian bagi beberapa orang, apalagi ditambah dengan label “luar negeri” namun daripada itu banyak sekali pemuda Indonesia yang terjebak dengan stigma bahwa pendidikan lebih tinggi membawa ke arah penghidupan yang lebih baik sehingga banyak sekali yang berbondong-bondong mencari beasiswa ke luar negeri hanya untuk mencari gelar dan menerima apapun peluang beasiswa yang ada di depan mata tanpa mempedulikan apa konsekuensi dari menerima penghidupan di negeri orang secara “gratis” dari suatu lembaga ataupun perorangan yang berasal dari negeri tersebut . Kenyataan ini tak jarang memberikan pengalaman pahit baik mahasiswa maupun sang pembimbing dikarenakan adanya kesalahpahaman yang terjadi antara kedua belah pihak. Melihat kenyataan ini kami mahasiswa UST sadar betapa pentingnya memberikan informasi yang tepat akan universitas dan topik riset kepada mahasiswa Indonesia yang ingin melanjutkan pendidikannya ke luar negeri secara aman dan nyaman. UST sendiri merupakan suatu universitas yang didirikan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akademik dari para peneliti yang terdapat di 23 institut riset (29 hingga saat ini) terkemuka milik pemerintah Korea Selatan. -

Jinju-Si, Gyeongsangnam-Do, Korea Jinju Is a Hub City of Southern Korea
Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea Jinju is a hub city of southern Korea. From old times, Jinju was a fountainhead of national culture and spirit. As a city that has held 1,000-year-old historical heritage of the ancient city, Jinju has been well renowned as a home of patriotic spirit, education, culture and art. Jinju was an ancient city of Goryeonggaya in the Gaya Era. This city was called 'Geoyeolseong' of Baekje in the Three Kingdom Era, and was called 'Geoyeolju', 'Cheongju', and 'Gangju' in the Unified Silla Era. Name of this city was changed into 'Jinju' for the first time in the 23rd year of King Taejong of the Goryeo Dynasty (940). It became 'Jinju-mok', one of 12 moks (local administrative units in Goryeo and Joseon Dynasty) in the 2nd year of King Seongjong (983). In the 33rd year of King Gojong of the Joseon Dynasty (1896), administrative - 1 - districts of the nation were reorganized into 13 provinces. At that time Jinju came to belong to Gyeongsangnam-do, and became the capital town of Gyeongsangnam-do. And a provincial governor started to reside at Jinju. On April 1, 1925, Busan replaced Jinju as the provincial capital. On August 15, 1949, the government of the Republic of Korea was established and 'the local self-government system' was started. At that time, Jinju-bu was raised to Jinju-si (city) and started to have its mayor. On January 1, 1995, in accordance with 'the Act pertaining to the establishment of Urban-Rural Integrated City', Jinju-si and Jinyang-gun were merged into Jinju-si (city).
