Transportation http://www.daejeon.go.kr/language/english/residents/transportation/airports/index.html Background Information - Yuseong is a district of Metropolitan Daejeon in the North West section of the city and is near the Daedeok Science Town. - Many tourist hotels such as the “Hotel Riviera Yuseong” and others are located in Yuseong area which is famous as a hot springs resort. - There are four main bus terminals in Daejeon, two of which are located in Yuseong (for Express Bus), and two satellite terminals near the Daejeon Government Complex (for Airport Limousine) - There are two main train stations (Daejeon and Seodaejeon) in Daejeon. - There is only one line of subway in Daejeon. That is very convenient way from KTX stations to Yuseong Hotel Area. Map (Daejeon) Visiting Routes from Airport to Yuseong Hotel in Daejeon A. Incheon International Airport Incheon International Airport (ICN) is the main and largest international airport in Korea. The city of Daejeon is located approximately 220km south of ICN. Though closer international airports (i.e. Cheongju) exist, ICN is the most convenient. Website : http://www.airport.or.kr Tel : 1577-2600 There are three routes to come to Yuseong Hotel (or workshop place) from Incheon International Airport. We recommend route #1, using airport limousine bus because route #1 is direct one without transfer but remains are complicated for a first visitor. Route #1. Airport Limousine between Daejeon and Incheon International Airport You can use convenient limousine buses from/to ICN International Airport. Bus fares are 21,000 won for a deluxe limousine bus and 14,000 won for a regular limousine bus from/to ICN. ● Ticketing and Boarding - Proceed to entrances (#4,6,7,8,11,13) on the first floor of Arrivals at ICN. - The ticket counter is located outside the passenger’s building near the entrances and in the front of the #9D bus stop. (refer to below figure) - Bus boarding is just at the #9D bus stop. (Confirm that the bus is for “Daejeon”) - Tickets are date and boarding time specific with assigned seating. - Tickets may be purchased one way or round trip. ● Arrival in Daejeon - The airport bus proceeds directly to Daejeon. - There are multiple stops in Daejeon. ※ Bus Stops in Daejeon: 1) Daedeok Convention Center 2) Government Complex Daejeon 3) Dongbu Inter-city Bus terminal - The nearest bus stop to Yuseong is “Government Complex”. - You may take a taxi from the bus stop at Government Complex to the hotels in Yuseong. Alternate Bus Transportation from airport to Daejeon by way of Seoul - Take a limousine bus to the Seoul “Gangnam Express Bus Terminal” (Central City Terminal). (Travel time: approx. 80 min, fare: ₩14,000) - Transfer to an Express bus to Yuseong at the Central City Terminal (!!not “Seoul Express Bus Terminal”). (Travel time: approx. 2 h, fare: ₩8,800 ~₩12,900) ** There are two express bus terminals, “Central City Terminal” and “Seoul Express Bus Terminal” at Gangnam express bus terminal area. For “Yuseong terminal” (final destination) (!!not “Daejeon terminal”), you must leave at Central City Terminal (!!not “Seoul Express Bus Terminal”). - At the Yuseong bus terminal, you can walk to most of the hotels or take a taxi. (fare: approx. ₩3,000) Route #3. Alternate (Train) Transportation from airport to Daejeon by way of Seoul - Take a limousine bus to the “Seoul Station” (Travel time: approx. 1 h, fare: ₩14,000) - Transfer to a KTX train to Daejeon. (Travel time: approx. 1 h, fare: ₩22,900) - At the Daejeon Station, take a taxi. (fare: approx. ₩10,000, approx. 25 min) or Metro (ride off the Yuseong Spa station, where is the nearest from Yuseong Hotels, fare : ₩1,100, travel time : approx. 30 min) B. Gimpo International Airport Gimpo Airport mainly serves domestic flights. It connects Seoul with 13 major cities in Korea in less than an hour: Busan, Daegu, Gangneung, Gunsan, Gwangju, Jeju-do (island), Jinju, Mokpo, Pohang, Sokcho, Ulsan, Yecheon, and Yeosu. Tourists can use this fast, safe and reliable means of transportation at reasonable prices. Trains travel on time, with few likelihoods of delay or traffic jam than road traffic. There are three kinds of trains being operated: the Korea Train Express(KTX), the Super-Express Saemaeul-ho and Express Mugunghwa-ho. It is not easy to purchase tickets on the weekends and holidays unless you buy in advance. Tickets can be purchased at station windows, travel agencies, or online. Daejeon Station serves the bullet train between Seoul and Busan. The bullet train takes you to Seoul within only 50 minutes from Daejeon and 2.5 hours from Seoul to Busan.. Red buses (express) cover 2 routes (#1, #2) and they stop at major bus stops, ensuring a rapid transit service. Blue buses (regular) connect the downtown areas with the suburbs. There are 2 types of green-colored buses: one is connects all districts within Daejeon, and the other connects Daejeon with its neighboring areas. Bus fares vary depending on the age groups: children, middle and high school students, and adults. Traffic card is recommended as it offers discounts and free transfer. Each bus has two doors: front door for entry and back door for exit. Place your transit card closer to the card reader upon entry and exit. Cash payment is also available. Daejeon City has established an intelligent transportation system which placed a monitor at each bus stop for passengers to check the arrival time of the next bus.
