In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of rule 13 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007, the following members, in order of precedence, were nominated to form a Panel of Chairpersons for the 56th Session of the National Assembly:- 1. ANNOUNCEMENT

Honourable Speaker informed the members to gather in front of the Parliament House after the today’s sitting for a group photo of the members of 14th National Assembly.

Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Criticized the presentation of 6th Budget for complete Leader of the Opposition financial year by the government ahead of general elections (5.06 p.m. to 5.16 p.m.) and presentation of Budget by a non-elected Minister.

Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Criticized the presentation of 6th Budget for complete Qureshi financial year by the government ahead of general elections (5.16 p.m. to 5.26 p.m.) despite disagreement of three Provincial Governments. Mr. , Next government would have the right to make changes in Prime Minister of Pakistan the Budget. (5.26 p.m. to 5.31 p.m.)

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Non-elected person was appointed Minister in PPPP Minister for Inter-Provincial government. Coordination (6.39 p.m. to 6.40 p.m.)

TOKEN WALK OUT

Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Leader of the Opposition alongwith all members belonging to PPPP, PTI and JI staged a walk-out as a protest against presentation of 6th Budget for complete financial year by the government ahead of general elections.

PROTEST

All members belonging to PTI staged a protest, raised slogans, tore Budget documents and gathered in front of the dice of Minister for Finance during the Budget speech on presentation of 6th Budget for complete financial year.

2. Minister for Finance to present the Mr. , Minister for Finance, Revenue Federal Budget for the year, 2018-2019. and Economic Affairs presented the Federal Budget for the year, 2018-2019.

Minister for Finance to lay before the Mr. Miftah Ismail, Minister for Finance, National Assembly the Supplementary Revenue and Economic Affairs laid before the Demands for Grants and Appropriations National Assembly the Supplementary Demands for the financial year 2017-18. for Grants and Appropriations for the financial year 2017-18 laid.

INTRODUCTION OF FINANCE BILL

4. Minister for Finance to introduce a Bill to Mr. Miftah Ismail, Minister for Finance, Revenue give effect to the financial proposals of the and Economic Affairs introduced; copy is available Federal Government for the year on the website of the National Assembly and to be beginning on the first day of July, 2018 published in the Gazette of Pakistan. and to amend certain laws [The Finance Bill, 2018].

SUSPENSION MOTION

Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Science and Technology and Defence Production moved the following motion which was adopted by the House:-

“That under rule 288 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007 the requirements of rules 18, 69 and 88 of the said Rules be suspended in respect of raising matters which are not Points of Order, Questions Hour and Calling Attention Notices from 30th April, 2018 till the passage of the Budget including the Finance Bill, 2018 in order to give more time for discussion and passage of the Budget.”

The sitting of the Assembly was adjourned to meet again on Wednesday the 2nd May, 2018 at 4.00 p.m.
