CYBER SECURITY

-By Vikalp Rathore (IT, I Semester)

INTRODUCTION:-

WHY WRITE ABOUT CYBERSECURITY AND CYBERWAR? With the rise of “all this cyber stuff,” this immensely important but incredibly short history of computers and the Internet has reached a defining point. Just as the upside of the cyber domain is rippling out into the physical domain, with rapid and often unexpected consequences, so too is the downside. As we will explore, the astounding numbers behind “all this cyber stuff” drive home the scale and range of the threats: 97 percent of 500 fortune companies have been hacked (and 3 percent likely have been too and just don’t know it), and more than one hundred governments are gearing up to fight battles in the online domain. Indeed, President Barack Obama declared that “cyber security risks pose some of the most serious economic and national security challenges of the 21st century,” a position that has been repeated by leaders in countries from Britain to China. How to secure any computer; just unplug it.The problem is not only that the joke is becoming outdated in an era of wireless and rechargeable devices, but once a machine is plugged in,there are practically an infinite number of ways its use might deviate from its intended purpose. This deviation is a malfunction. When the difference between the expected behavior and actual behavior is caused by an adversary, then malfunction is a “security’ problem.

HOW IT ALL WORKS? Now that your computer has the location of the data, how will that data get to your computer? The server at Brookings needs to know that it should send data to your machine, and the data needs to get there. Figure illustrates how your computer requests a web page by breaking down the request into packets and sending them across the Internet. First, at the “layer” of the application, your browser interprets the click of your mouse as a command in the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which defines how to ask for and deliver content. This command is then passed down to the transport and network layers. Transport is responsible for breaking the data down into packet-sized chunks and making sure that all. It is simultaneously becoming massively bigger (each day some 2,500,000,000,000,000,000 bytes are added to the global supply of digital information) and far more personalized. PPPAAAGGGEEE 111 TTTHHHEEE OOORRRIIIEEENNNTTTAAALLL BBBUUUZZZZZZ

WHAT CAN WE DO? A number of senior government leaders have pushed this “secure” model. In addition to encouraging new accountability, this approach also offers opportunities for what are known as “confidence building measures,”The bigger, longer-term issue is whether that will be possible. The world is divided into very different visions of the Internet and its governance. One, coming largely from more authoritarian countries, wants “to turn back the clock and regain sovereignty over their own national bits of the Internet.” The alternative vision, coming largely from democratic states, sees the very openness of the internet as the key of its success, allowing it to evolve to meet its users virtual wants and needs, regardless of their physical location in the world.

CONCLUSION:- What Do I Really Need to Know in the End? Given what we’ve seen happen in cyberspace already, it is certainly daunting to imagine such a world. And it’s even more overwhelming when we can be certain that there are more trends that lie beyond. Undoubtedly, new technologies and applications will emerge that will revolutionize our conceptions.

The idea that these machines would one day do everything from steal a person’s identity to literally become weapons of mass disruption would have scared the wits out of our younger selves. The prospect of entering such a dangerous online world likely would have reduced us to tears and spurred please to our parents not to hit the “power” button. Today, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our journey into the world of cyberspace has given us, and the rest of humanity, fantastic powers that were then unimaginable. We must accept and manage the risks of this world both online and real because of all that can be achieved in it. And that's what every needs to know.

Did you know:- Cyber crime damages will cost the world $6 trillion annually by 2021, up from $3 trillion in 2015. Cybersecurity spending will exceed $1 trillion from 2017 to 2021. The world will have 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs by the end of 2021. Ransomware damage costs are predicted to grow more than 57X from 2015 to 2021. 70 percent of cryptocurrency transactions will be for illegal activity by 2021.

JUNGLE BABBLER This familiar ash-brown colored babbler has a yellow bill and a dark brow in front of the eye that contrasts with its pale eye giving it a perpetual “angry” look. It has vague streaking on the upperparts, diffuse mottling on its throat, and barring on its tail. The multiple races vary slightly in color and strength of markings except the race somervillei of the NW peninsula which has dark brown outer wing feathers that contrast with the rest of the wing. They are often seen in noisy flocks hopping on the ground and flicking litter in search of food.

I HEARD ABOUT DEMOCRACY

I heard about democracy, Good for common, best for aristocracy. People had struggled and faced the fights, Then after they got, respect and rights. Leaders of here are elected person, But they always, do the conversion. We elect them and make them respectful, Even after that, they make us fool. There is election, for different sections, Did you know:- People elect them, as for their satisfaction. People faced fights, to gain their rights, The ancient epic They labored whole days as well as nights. Indian poem the Leaders of our country, became corrupted person, runs They take the bribe, for taking any action. to over 100,000 They won the election and seized our rights, Later they increase the, taxes size. lines. People become dishonest, because of corruption, It spread all around, like an infection. People elect their representatives, with the proud, But nobody knows, they're already a fraud. So, Vote those person who thinks for every section, And should work themselves with perfection.

ARCYLIC PAINTINGS

Acrylic painting is an art style that is created using synthetic acrylic resins. Acrylics dry rapidly and give the visual impression of both watercolour and oil paintings. Acrylic paintings became popular in the 20th century when artists were concerned about the health risk posed by handling oil paints and its fumes.

-By Aryan Chaurasia (CSE- AIML, I Semester)

Air Pollution which is the reason behind the deaths of more than eleven thousand people across the world, and even rising as the population is aging continuously. It is estimated that more than 175,000 people could die over the next decade from the strokes and heart attacks only caused by Air Pollution. A team of computer scientists from Lough borough University in the England’s Leicestershire have developed a new Artificial Intelligence System that predicts Air Pollution levels day in advance. The team claims that the system will provide the insight into the environmental factors that have significant impacts on air pollution levels. For the analysis of the data about air pollution, a network of sensors will be installed throughout the cities to predict the pollution levels. The system mainly focuses on the amount of “PM 2.5” particulates in the air, i.e., about 3% size of a human hair, it is often characterized as causing reduced visibility in cities and hazy- looking air when pollution levels are quite high. To train the system, the team used public historical data on air pollution in Beijing and then tested the algorithms. The team selected China as the targeted region, are Chinese cities have serious air pollution problems. The enormity of air pollution has always been a matter of immense concern for the whole world. India, in fact, is currently facing one of the highest disease burdens from air pollution in the world, with an estimated 100% of the population living in areas with PM 2.5 Concentrations. Only by understanding the fundamental social transformations and by involving our communities in defining the wat forward, we will be able to drive these unique technological innovations for a better future. Armed with artificial intelligence, companies can surely help the world breathe better.

Fun Fact:- Scientists once considered New Delhi before Beijing but they were unable to conduct any tests as there were no Indian institutes came in the support to participate in the survey.

SWAMI VIVEKANAND

-By Om Garg (CSE-AIML, I Semester)

INTRODUCTION:-

WHEN HE MET RAMAKRISHNAPARAMAHAMSA:- was born on 12 January 1863 . His name was Narendranath Datta and he was an Indian Hindu monk. He was a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna Naren (as he was popularly known as) was born at his ancestral home at 3 Gourmohan Mukherjee Street in British Capital Calcutta. Son of Vishwanath Dutta, who was an attorney at the Calcutta High Court and a devout housewife Bhubaneswari Devi, Naren's upbringing was influenced by his father's liberal thinking and his mother's spiritual and religious temperament. Vivekananda was very eager to see God and know about the existence of God. When he met Shri Ramakrishna at Dakshineswar, he asked him whether he had seen God. He answered, ‘Yes I have’. I see God as clearly as I see you, in a more profound sense. Ramakrishna told him God lives within every human being. So, if we serve mankind, then we can serve God. Influenced by his divine spirituality, Vivekananda accepted Ramakrishna as his guru and started his monk life thereafter. When he became a monk, he was 25 years old and named as ‘Swami Vivekananda’. Later in his life, he founded the Ramakrishna Mission which is rendering voluntary social service to the poor and distressed irrespective of religion, caste, and creed. He also introduced the Indian Philosophy of Hinduism to western countries and led the ‘Vedanta Movement’. Ramakrishna told his disciples to see Vivekananda as their leader and spread the ‘Vedanta’ philosophy, before his death. He followed Ramakrishna throughout his life and took all his responsibilities after his death.

“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”

PPPAAAGGGEEE 111555 TTTHHHEEE OOORRRIIIEEENNNTTTAAALLL BBBUUUZZZZZZ

HIS CONTRIBUTION:- Vivekananda contributed to the literary field with his works Bhakti Yoga, My Master, Raja Yoga, etc. His teachings and valuable ideas became the greatest philosophical asset of India. He founded Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission on the name of his guru in 1897. He also founded Belur Math that disseminated the religious and spiritual teachings of Vivekananda. It also engages in educational and social work.He became famous globally due to his speech in Chicago. Many Indian leaders were attracted by his nationalist views and great thoughts. Sri Aurobindo praised him for awakening the Indian spirituality. Mahatma Gandhi also said to him one of the great Hindu reformers promoting Hinduism.

HIS DEATH:- He died at 9:20 p.m. while meditating. According to his disciples, Vivekananda attained mahasamdhi, the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained mahasamadhi. Vivekananda fulfilled his prophecy that he would not live forty years. He was cremated on a sandalwood funeral pyre on the bank of the Ganga in Belur, opposite where Ramakrishna was cremated sixteen years earlier.

CONCLUSION:- Swami Vivekananda was a great spiritual man and philosopher around the world. He wanted global spirituality, harmony, universal brotherhood, and peace across the world. His teaching and philosophy still exists in the present day and guides the modern era youth. His founded organizations are spreading his teaching and philosophy and working for the improvement of society and the nation. He promoted Vedanta and many social services. He will be an inspiration for the youth of the world forever.

Did you know:- Amazing concentration power was also displayed in America. In America, he was sitting near a water body when he saw two young American guys attempting to shoot egg shells floating on water. The boys failed in every attempt when they noticed Vivekananda smirking. They were annoyed and asked Vivekananda to try. Amazingly enough, Vivekananda shot 12 times and every time he managed to hit his target. The amazed guys asked him the secret to which Vivekananda said that all they have to do is concentrate only and only on the targets and forget everything else in vicinity.

THE MOTIVATION WE NEED

-By Samiksha Jain (IT, I Semester)

Let me ask you a question about what you mean by success as we all know that different people have different definitions of this topic. But here comes another word “motivation”, but what does it mean? Have you ever wondered about it? Let me tell you that the simple and easy-to-understand definition of motivation is the reason for people’s actions, desires, and needs. In simple words motive means needs, desires motivation is derived from the word motive. You might have heard about motivational speakers all around the world but do you know what they do? They just tell the people the ways through which they earn, become successful and happy in their life. But the main thing is the self-motivation. Just think that I can change my destiny. It’s your life that makes it large.

SELF DRIVING CARS WITH MACHINE LEARNING

-By Deeja Shandilya (CSE-AIML, I Semester)

Just over a decade ago, the idea of being chauffeured around by a string of zeroes and ones was ludicrous o pretty much everybody who wasn’t at an abandoned Air Force base outside Los Angeles, watching a dozen driver less cars glide through real traffic. That event was the Urban Challenge, the third and final competition for autonomous vehicles put on by DARPA; the Pentagon’s skunk works arms.

MACHINE LEARNING:- At its simplest, this artificial intelligence tool trains computers to do things identify cyclists by showing them millions of examples of the subject at like detect lane lines and hand. Because the world is too complex to write a rule for every possible scenario, it’s key to have cars that can learn from experience and figure out how to navigate on their own.

THE FUTURE OF SELF-DRIVING CARS: -

Let’s start with the question you definitely want to ask: When will self- driving cars take over? Answer: wrong question. The autonomous vehicle is not a single device that someday will be ready and start shipping. It’s a system, a collection of inventions applied in a novel way. And, remember, the advance of the original car was constrained and shaped by forces like the growth of the road network and the availability of gasoline. The takeover of the self- driving car will depend on a new set of questions- the questions you should be asking.

The term machine learning was coined in 1959 by Arthur Samuel, an American IBMer and pioneer in the field of computer gaming and artificial intelligence.

AS SELF- DRIVING CARS APPROACH THE AUTO INDUSTRY RUSHES TO REBUILD:- Automotive supply chains span tiers of companies scattered around the globe. Automakers are constantly seeking to reduce cost and complexity- and increase profit- by joining forces with the folks whose strengths match their weaknesses. Now the industry is building the supply chains and partnerships that well help it push into a new self-driving age, one demands manufacturing expertise, artificial intelligence know-how, mapping skills, piles of cash, and more. IN THE PAST five years, autonomous driving has gone from “maybe possible” to “how did anyone ever think this wasn’t inevitable?” to “now commercially available”. In December 2018, Waymo, the company that emerged from Google’s self-driving car project, officially started its commercial self- driving- car service in the suburbs of Phoenix. The details of the program- it’s available only to a few hundred vetted riders, human’s safety operators will remain behind the wheel- may be underwhelming but don’t erase its significance. People are now paying for robot rides. This 21st – century gold rush is motivated by the intertwined forces of opportunity and survival instinct. By one account, driver less tech will add $7 trillion to the global economy and save hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few decades. Simultaneously, it could devastate the auto industry and its associated gas stations, drive- thrush, taxi drivers, and truckers. Some people will prosper. Most will benefit. Many will be left behind. It’s worth remembering that when automobiles first started rumbling down mature- clogged streets, people called them horseless carriages. The moniker made sense; here were vehicles that did what carriages did, minus the hooves. By the time “car” caught on as a term, the invention had become something entirely new. Over a century, it reshaped how humanity moves and thus how (and where and with whom) humanity lives. This cycle has restarted, and the term “driverless car” will soon seem as anachronistic as “horseless carriage”.

We don’t know how cars that don’t need human chauffeurs will mild society, but we can be sure a similar gear shift is on the way.

Python is the leader, with 57% of data scientists and machine learning developers using it and 33% preferring it over other languages for developments. Not only python is a widely-used language, but it is the primary choice for most of its users due to the release of TensorFlow and a wide selection of other libraries.

SOME ENGINEER’S FACTS YOU NEVER HEARD OFF!

With some engineering twists and turns along the way, the snowboard has become a marvel of geometry, chemistry, and bio mechanics. Since the snowboard allows deft turns, ski manufacturers have quickly adopted some of the snowboard innovations, enabling skiers to turn with less effort. Engineers understand how much force travels from the ground through the shoe to the foot. Through the work of engineering, weight is distributed throughout the whole foot -- heel to toe. A civil engineer designed a pumping system to circulate just the right amount of water to the flume. Without the right flow of water, there is no ride. Additionally, civil engineers have designed the slide to withstand the weight of people, the water, and even the force of the wind blowing on it. The space program has greatly expanded the world's knowledge base. The technological advancement by engineers in energy, communications, materials, structures, and computers, have made space travel possible. The first Ferris Wheel was created by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania engineer, George W. Ferris, in 1893. The wheel is supported by two 140-foot steel towers and connected by a 45-foot axle - - the largest single piece of forged steel ever made at that time. Engineers are involved in all aspects of interactive TV technology, from designing new cables, to creating new film emulsions, to engineering better sound quality. This technology allows viewers to select any program, film, or game from more than 500 channels. Engineers play an instrumental role in the theme park industry? Theme park engineers are involved in designing, building, lighting, and even controlling the crowd flow in theme parks around the world. Companies and universities are using engineers to form the Virtual Reality and Simulation Initiative? This technology applies computer simulation and visualization to 3-D modeling projects, such as virtual offices. Computer engineers, in conjunction with animators, have created special effects in movies such as "Jurassic Park," "Forrest Gump," and "Interview with the Vampire"? Through "morphing" technology, images are digitally mastered to appear realistic.

PEN ART Pen drawing, artwork executed wholly or in part with pen and ink, usually on paper. Pen drawing is fundamentally a linear method of making images. In pure pen drawing in which the artist wishes to supplement his outlines with tonal suggestions of three-dimensional form, modeling must necessarily be effected by the close juxtaposition of a series of strokes forming areas of hatching or cross-hatching.

Did you know:-

Pens are the oldest and most popular of all the drawing media of the Western artist, in part because of the variety of linear effects provided by the three basic types of pens and their adaptability to the changing styles of draftsmanship over many centuries.
