    The Jardine Foundation Scholarships 2019 for Postgraduate Studies at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Guidelines Introduction To mark its 150th Anniversary in June 1982, Jardine Matheson established an educational trust called The Jardine Foundation to provide scholarships. The Foundation in its discretion awards Jardine Scholarships annually to students to enable them to attend educational establishments, primarily selected colleges at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge (the ‘Universities’) in the United Kingdom. The Foundation aims to assist scholars who have the potential to become outstanding citizens with a high commitment to the community. Consequently, the selection of candidates is based on a number of criteria, which include academic achievement and academic potential, leadership qualities, and involvement in non-curricular activities and community affairs. The Foundation is seeking applications from postgraduate students who have been provisionally accepted at either of the Universities and will be resident in one of the Foundation’s preferred Colleges. Applications must be made through the Preferred Colleges. General Information 1) Scholarships for postgraduate studies (such as Masters or PhD) are for periods of up to four years. Update by FOBISIA Executive 2 Officer In addition to the annual conference, FOBISIA heads also meet once a year for an an- nual business meeting. This year it was hosted by the Taipei European School in Tai- FOBISIA Heads’ wan. As usual there was a great deal of routine business enacted to ensure the federation continues to run Business Meeting 3 smoothly, but also some events and issues of greater significance. 2014 We were delighted to be able to extend a special welcome the English School of Mongolia as a new mem- FOBISIA MUN 2014 4 ber school of FOBISIA. This is the first school to join the federation following our recent decision to enlarge the geographical area that we encompass. The head of the school, Graham Hill, captured the interest and Music Festival at 5 admiration of existing FOBISIA heads as he described how the school had been founded and developed in GIS Rayong, — 6 somewhat challenging circumstances. Maksudnya adalah mulai dari lingkungannya, institusnya, dan bahkan pihak-pihak pendukungnya yang memberikan satu kesempatan besar untuk terus berkembang ketika berada di luar negeri. Jika mau diambil contoh mengenai pengembangan berbagai hal di Indonesia saat ini sudah ada beberapa contoh yang justru berakhir tidak baik. Masih ingat dengan kasus mobil listrik? Itu hanya satu contoh dimana memang ternyata budaya apresiasi atau menghargai itu masih belum terpupuk di Indonesia.

A pioneer in many respects, in 1970, she became the first woman to join the MIT Corporation, and in 1984-’85 she served as the first female president of the MIT Alumni Association.
