This scholarship program will cover full tuition fees and provide stipend for your living expenses. Applicants will be selected based on your academic qualifications. The scholarship is available for the duration of your study. Strong background in Mathematics is an advantage. Previous education in economics is not required. Amount of Scholarships Successful candidates will receive full tuition fees scholarship and stipend for your living expenses. Candidates with Master degree will usually receive full financial support. Duration of Scholarships Scholarships are available for the duration of your study. Level of Education Scholarships available for PhD programs only. Subjects or Fields of Study Scholarships available only for PhD in Economics. Eligibility To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria below: Applicants are welcome from any country. Applicants must meet all the entry requirements for PhD in Economics. Applicants must have sufficient English language proficiency. Scholarships only available for new students commencing study in September 2021. Current students are not eligible to apply. Previous education in Economics is not required. Strong background in Mathematics is an advantage. Applicants with strong bachelor degree may also apply directly to the PhD program. Number of Scholarships Available Up to 40 students are accepted each year. Nationality Scholarships available for all students from any country. There is no restriction on nationality. Selection Criteria Applicants will be assessed based on your academic qualifications. How to Apply You may apply online using the online application form available on their website or deliver all documents by post. There is no application fee! You must submit the following documents: Application form Curriculum vitae Statement of motivation Verified copies of your Bachelor & Master diplomas & transcripts Two letters of recommendation English language proficiency certificate (TOEFL / IELTS) Other supporting documents such as study records, certificates, etc. Please read the guidance and terms of the scholarship program on their website for more detail info. Application Deadline The closing date for this scholarship program is March 31, 2021. Please take note of the deadline. Late submissions will not be entertained! Result Notification Successful applicants will be notified around April 2021. Important Notes Applicants are welcome from any country.     The Jardine Foundation Scholarships 2019 for Postgraduate Studies at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Guidelines Introduction To mark its 150th Anniversary in June 1982, Jardine Matheson established an educational trust called The Jardine Foundation to provide scholarships. The Foundation in its discretion awards Jardine Scholarships annually to students to enable them to attend educational establishments, primarily selected colleges at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge (the ‘Universities’) in the United Kingdom. The Foundation aims to assist scholars who have the potential to become outstanding citizens with a high commitment to the community. Consequently, the selection of candidates is based on a number of criteria, which include academic achievement and academic potential, leadership qualities, and involvement in non-curricular activities and community affairs. The Foundation is seeking applications from postgraduate students who have been provisionally accepted at either of the Universities and will be resident in one of the Foundation’s preferred Colleges. Applications must be made through the Preferred Colleges. General Information 1) Scholarships for postgraduate studies (such as Masters or PhD) are for periods of up to four years. Melanjutkan pendidikan dengan menggunakan bantuan beasiswa tentu sangat meringankan beban pembiayaan apa lagi jika pendidikan yang diambil dijalani di luar negeri. Ide untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke luar negeri memanglah bukan satu ide yang baru. Faktanya sudah sangat lama terjadi yang namanya mahasiswa atau pelajar Indonesia melanjutkan pendidikan di luar negeri. Bukan hanya karena gengsi atau gaya-gayaan saja melainkan memang demi mengejar kualitas pendidikan yang lebih baik. Bukan berarti hal ini menyiratkan bahwa pendidikan 2 di Indonesia tidak baik, namun lagi-lagi faktanya adalah bahwa dalam hal pendidikan ada cukup banyak negara selain Indonesia yang menawarkan kualitas pendidikan yang lebih bagus secara paket keseluruhan. Maksudnya adalah mulai dari lingkungannya, institusnya, dan bahkan pihak-pihak pendukungnya yang memberikan satu kesempatan besar untuk terus berkembang ketika berada di luar negeri. Jika mau diambil contoh mengenai pengembangan berbagai hal di Indonesia saat ini sudah ada beberapa contoh yang justru berakhir tidak baik. Masih ingat dengan kasus mobil listrik? Itu hanya satu contoh dimana memang ternyata budaya apresiasi atau menghargai itu masih belum terpupuk di Indonesia.

Dr Wagley had a long career as an educator in the USA, teaching chemistry at Smith College from 1950 to 1953 and later serving as headmistress at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Brooklandville, Maryland, from 1966 to 1978. A pioneer in many respects, in 1970, she became the first woman to join the MIT Corporation, and in 1984-’85 she served as the first female president of the MIT Alumni Association.
