-No.

  • Catholic Candle's List of Priests & Those Who Claim to Be Priests
Revision date: November 6, 2020 Catholic Candle’s List of Priests & Those Who Claim to be Priests This list primarily focuses on whether there is any doubt concerning the validity of the ordination of a priest whom the faithful might encounter. Note: Catholic sacramental theology requires that an ordination be treated as invalid if even the slightest reasonable doubt exists, concerning the validity of either the ordination or the ordaining bishop’s consecration. See the analyses elsewhere in Catholic Candle, which demonstrate the inherent doubtfulness of conciliar ordinations and consecrations: http://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/new-ordination-doubtful.html https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGd2RRcTFSY29EYzg/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGZVF5cmFvMGdZM0U/view Also, in the list below, Catholic Candle flags sedevacantist priests (or supposed priests) of which we are aware. Sedevacantism is a grave error and is schism. See this article analyzing the sedevacantist error: https://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/against-sedevacantism.html This is not a list of “approved” priests. It is the beginning of a prudent investigation concerning a particular priest. Fr. Patrick Abbet From Switzerland. Ordained in 2002. Source: STAS.org website, where he was an SSPX seminary professor. Fr. Stephen Abraham As of April 2017, he lives in a house with Bishop Richard Nelson Williamson, in Broadstairs, England. There are serious problems with this SSPX-ordained priest.

Portier This dissertation examines the theological work of John Hugo by looking at its roots within the history of Ignatian spirituality, as well as within various nature-grace debates in Christian history. It also attempts to situate Hugo within the historical context of early twentieth-century Catholicism and America, particularly the period surrounding the Second World War. John Hugo (1911-1985) was a priest from Pittsburgh who is perhaps best known as Dorothy Day‟s spiritual director and leader of “the retreat” she memorialized in The Long Loneliness. Throughout much of American Catholic scholarship, Hugo‟s theology has been depicted as rigorist and even labeled as Jansenist, yet it was embraced by and had a great influence upon Day and many others.

  • Please Click Here and Read My Petition for Spiritual Help
My Petition for Spiritual Help From Patrick Henry During December, 2007, a friend, who attended the Mass of Father Joseph, sent an email saying Father Joseph wanted to visit with me. Arrangements were made, and we met December 26, 2007. Father Joseph Noonan, OFM, was ordained by Bishop Louis Vezelis, OFM. He is mainly located now in Lubbock, Texas. However, he goes out to other “missions” in Arizona, California, and other places. During our visit I asked Father Joseph how he has jurisdiction. Father Joseph’s explanation was that Bishop Vezelis received ordinary jurisdiction at the time he was consecrated, and then he delegates jurisdiction to the priests. Father Joseph did not have any books with him, so he could not show any reference sources that explain how bishops automatically receive jurisdiction as a result of their consecration. I was asked to go to the Friars’ website for the information, and if I did not find it, to contact Bishop Vezelis and Bishop Giles. I asked the bishops if they would please explain two major things: 1) How Traditional Movement bishops and priests have ordinary and delegated jurisdiction. 2) How they were consecrated, and how did they consecrate others without sin being committed and excommunications taking place. Bishop Giles Butler, OFM, who was consecrated by Bishop Vezelis, sent me the following links to obtain the December, 2007, and January, 2008, issues of The Seraph. http://friarsminor.org/pdf/28-04 12-07seraph.pdf http://friarsminor.org/pdf/28-05 01-08seraph.pdf I read, from The Seraph, what Bishop Vezelis wrote regarding the subjects of jurisdiction and the papal mandate.

Combined Response March 19, 2020 St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for us! Greetings my friends, Praised be Jesus, Mary, and St. Joseph now and forever. Rather than give the names of some friends who wrote me emails and asked me to correspond with them and answer questions, in this letter on the public website I am only going to refer to them as F1 (as one friend), F2 (as another friend), F3 (as another friend), F4 (as another friend). F1 sent me an email March 5, 2020 and asked “What do you think of the following”; and then he sent information that was mostly taken from the CMRI website. Correspondence went back and forth for a while, and although I have other daily duties to also be taken care of, I will herein provide some information – although it will not be the complete in depth answers to explain about all of the articles accessed from the hyperlinks F1 sent me. Not long after F1 and I exchanged a few emails, another correspondence through email took place with F2. In the meantime, while I have been writing this letter, F3 also sent me an email asking me to comment on information from F4’s website. Because the subject matter for all of these email correspondences are closely related and intertwined; I have decided to see if I can address all of them in this one Combined Response to the questions asked in the emails. One of the articles F1 wanted to know what I think about was: Traditional Priests, Legitimate Sacraments by Rev.

  • Sedevacantism and Antipopes
Sedevacantism and Antipopes From "Religions of the World: A Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Beliefs and Practices" Copyright 2010 by ABC-CLIO, LLC In the wake of the Second Vatican Council, several arch-conservative Roman Catholic groups began to adopt a critical attitude toward the hierarchy. The largest of these groups later became the Society (or Fraternity) of Saint Pius X, under the leadership of French archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (1905-1991). Lefebvre, however, never questioned the legitimacy of Pope Paul VI (1897-1978), or that of his successors. Lefebvre’s view was that they were leaders of dubious doctrines and actions (thus justifying Lefebvre in promoting what, according to Rome, amounted to a schism), but did not conclude that such wrongdoings should automatically invalidate their papal canonical role. Inside and outside the Society of Saint Pius X, more radical groups emerged, each concluding that, after the Second Vatican Council, the popes had lost their legitimacy as a result of their heretical teachings; this implied that the Holy See of Rome (Latin: Sedes) was technically “vacant”—that is, there was no legitimate pope. Hence the name of Sedevacantism was given to the movement, which was vehemently critical of Lefebvre and his Society. The latter, in fact, although critical of the pope, continued to pray for him in its Masses with the ritual formula una cum Pontifice nostro (in unity with our pope). Sedevacantists regarded what they called the una cum Masses as ipso facto invalid, just as both Sedevacantists and members of the Lefebvre movement regarded Masses celebrated according to post-Second Vatican Council liturgical renewal as invalid.

  • Companions U
u companions u 2018 – 2019 Dear Companions, On behalf of my Jesuit brothers, I THANK YOU for walking with us as steadfast partners in these grace-filled ministries. The kindness in your hearts and the love you show through all of YOUR good works, inspires me personally and keeps a flame burning throughout the church and in our Jesuit institutions. The word “Companions” used in my salutation, which we use to describe many of our events honoring your generous gifts of time, talent, and treasure, was not selected randomly. Indeed St. Ignatius’s closest and dearest friends with whom he began the Society, he referred to as his “Companions.” Later as his ideas evolved, he intentionally used a related word, “accompaniment,” to describe the pastoral activity we are all called upon to undertake—accompanying our brothers and sisters along their journey and in their time of need. As we publish this Honor Roll, I am reminded of the recently communicated Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs) released by our Superior General, Fr. Arturo Sosa, SJ, with the support of Pope Francis. This document provides guidance to all of us to focus our attentions on the following pursuits: leading people to Christ by promoting discernment and the Spiritual Exercises; walking with the excluded; caring for our common home; and journeying with youth. He said “The UAPs should help sharpen our focus on what’s really central to our mission at this point in history.” Pope Francis said the preferences “are in harmony with the present priorities of the church.” Our ability to serve in this way is only made possible through the partnership with you, our companions.
