In September 2011, 4 new are to be presented, in Paris, San Francisco, Strasbourg and Torino. Reinhardt Wagner is a newcomer on the opera stage. The 3 other composers have already composed operas : The Cows of Apollo and The Thirteen Clocks (Theofanidis), Il carro e I canti (Solbiati), 60 e Parallèle , K… and La Frontière (Manoury).

Einojuhani Rautavaara : Aleksis Kivi , Ondine, ODV 4009 Premiered in Helsinki on September 12, 2009, this opera relates the Finnish poet’s life, mixing it together with excerpts of his works. With Jorma Hynninen, Janne Reinkainen, Riikka Rantanen, Paulina Linnosaari. Mikko Franck conducts and Pekka Milonoff directs.

Aribert Reimann : Medea , Arthaus Musik, 101 551 Premiered in Vienna on February 28, 2010, it is a new musical version of the Medea story, with Jason, Creusa and Creon. With Marlis Petersen, Michaele Selinger, , Michael Roider Michael Boder conducts and Marco Arturo Marelli directs.

Kris Defoort : The Woman Who Walked Into Doors , Fuga Libera, FUG709 with Claron McFadden, Jacqueline Blom. Etienne Siebens conducts. Premiered in Antwerp on November 7, 2001. Based on Roddy Doyle’s book, it tells the gripping story of Paula Spencer, a housewife whose life is ruled by alcohol and physical violence. Recorded live in Bruges, on September 23, 2006. Jonathan Dove : Tobias and the Angel , Chandos, CHAN 10606 with Omar Ebrahim, Hyacinth Nicholls, Darren Abrahams and James Laing Premiered in London in 1999, this community opera is based on the Book of Tobit from the Biblical Apocrypha. Recorded during the 2006 revival for the reopening of the Young Vic Theatre. Philip Glass : Kepler , OMM 0071 with Martin Achrainer, Cassandra McConnell, Karen Robertson, Katerina Hebelkova. Dennis Russel Davies conducts. Recorded : Linz, 2009 (world première production). The opera deals with Kepler and his ground-breaking laws of celestial movement.

In progress Shakespearean Opera Performance Guide This book will include all operas listed in previous studies as well as new operas composed in the last 20 years. It will give all information needed to perform it : characters with tessituras (and complete cast for the world première performance), complete orchestral setting, sets as described in libretto, duration, recordings, publishers. It is to be published before the Shakespeare anniversaries in 2014 (450th of his birth) and 2016 (400th of his death).
