Chris Warren, Duncan Hounsell, Rich James and Rob Taylor travelled to London by train from Keynsham and handed the petition to Jacob Rees-Mogg in Westminster Hall. The petition was presented in the Chamber later that day in a short ceremony shown live on BBC Parliament. This is another boost to the campaign and our thanks to Jacob Rees-Mogg MP for arranging the day, all the people who collected the signatures and everyone who expressed support.

The Bath and North East Somerset Council has announced that it intends to act as the official “promoter” of the station project and to allocate funds to take the project through the initial stages of development. This represents a great step forward for the campaign as B&NES can conduct discussions with the rail industry on a formal basis. Ultimately the decision whether a Station will be re-opened at Saltford will be a commercial one and dependent on attracting full funding.
