The first half of the Spring term was quite short and disrupted by the water prob­ lem for two days that hit the Eden Area. The local schools had to close un�l the water main was fixed – then it was back to a snowy morning just before the half Currently recrui�ng bar/restaurant staff. The historic, State of the Art (in 1923), 97 year old village centrepiece, was put through it’s paces for the “Open Day”, ACRE and Skelton Parish Council, supported events. Even the unpredictable Cumbrian weather, deferred its winter extremes to help bring out some of the newest and oldest of us. THE HISTORY OF ARMATHWAITE All day, tea/coffee & biccies were the order of the day, along with a free lunch, served in the Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2020 cosy, characterful, surrounds of the Reading Room, where the portrait of the halls namesake adds an historic patina to any proceeding.
